Quit Smoking - Nicotine Patch & Gum Program

The Health Department has lunched a campaign to help New Yorkers stop smoking. They have a Nicotine Patch and Gum program giveaway that will run from April 22 through May 7. I don't know if you have seen the TV ads about Marie, a woman who smoked for many years and as a result she has suffered numerous amputations. I was shocked when I saw the ad, I had no idea you could suffer amputations from smoking. I don't smoke but I tried it at one point and stopped because my son begged me to stop because he didn't wanted me to get cancer. That was enough for me! Quit smoking, if not for you for your kids and family.♥ Pin It Now!

Would You Do This?

I read about the mother who was so upset with her daughters she told them to get out of the car. Good Morning America asked other mothers about it. Would they do it or have they done it. I thought that is something you don't want to do these days unless is a block away and you know both kids are going to stay together. Too many crazies out there that are on the lookout for children who are walking alone. I have never been in this situation because I don't drive. I have lost my patience hundreds of time so I know how it feels. What do you guys think? Pin It Now!

China Bans Plurk!

I have read that China's government is very strict with TV, movies, the Internet etc. Well, As of April 22 they banned Plurk. They haven't said a word as to why they banned it. Guess Plurk was becoming too popular and was getting in the way of things? You can read more about it by clicking on the link. Hopefully they will see how silly (no offense to anyone of course) the whole thing is and they will lift the ban... Pin It Now!

Lawsuits & Celebrities.

According to PopEater a woman filed a lawsuit against Henry Ian Cusick. The actor who plays Desmond in Lost. I was shocked when I read this because he has never been in the news. Of course there is a first time for everything. A few other cast members of Lost have been in the news also. Someone broke into Sawyer's (I'm using their character's name, lol) house while he was asleep, Jin and Ana Lucia had a DUI and Sayid went to court and got custody of his son. I'm not saying that what the woman is saying is true but something happened for her to file a lawsuit. I wonder why she took so long though. I'm sure they will be asking her that, we will be hearing about this again.

Text Messaging.

Good morning, mi gente! Happy Monday to everyone. I was going through my 3,600 emails (no I'm not that popular, they are mainly newsletters, etc.) and found a newsletter from Commonsense.com where it had an interesting question Should you read your kids’ texts? I thought that's a good question. Personally I'm glad my kids are over 16 and we can't afford cell phones with text. I'm curious as to what other parents think about this.

Nadya Suleman - Latest Interview.

I have been following her story since it exploded. I was one who said holy shit she has 6 kids already? I followed comments on TMZ calling her all sorts of names and wishing her the worse things possible. I'm not saying that what she did was right (so don't bite my head off), according to her she didn't do it on purpose. She just happened to be very fertile at that moment and got pregnant with all 8. If she would have chosen to give some for adoption or terminate some of them if not all I'm sure people would have screamed also.

I have noticed she has always managed to give a good answer no matter the question. Short and to the point. She doesn't let comments get her under her skin (at least that we can see), she doesn't care what people say and she's not apologizing. I give her that, she has cojones! I hope she proves everyone wrong and ends up being a good Mom to those kids. Here is her latest interview with Good Morning America. Pin It Now!

No Water & Scams!

It's a gloomy rainy Monday. I'm cold and sweating at the same time. Don't know if it has to do with me getting old or because I'm pissed. I went to use the bathroom and to wash my face and there is barely any water and it's cold water. I don't mind this once in while but mierda, we have been having water problems since last year. At this point you think they would let you know ahead of time when they are going to shut off the water so if you work or have to go out you can plan ahead. No warning at all, fuck!

I was checking my email and I always check my spam folder because sometimes regular emails end up in that folder. Well, today I noticed an email I keep getting over and over. I'm thinking does these people think we are that stupid? The Internet has been around for a long time now. Meaning where almost everyone has it. You would've had to be living in a forest somewhere with no computer for the past 10 years to fall for this stupid shit!! This is the email below...

These people have nothing better to do but try to scam others out of their money. Unfortunately they try to get you other ways and some people fall into the trap because it looks legit. I make a point to watch Dateline and 20-20 every Friday because you can learn a lot from these shows. Not too long ago Dateline aired an episode about scams online. I felt so bad for these people and it pissed me off that they can get away with it. You can watch the whole episode below.

This also reminded me of another episode they aired about debt collectors and the things they say to get you to pay. I have fallen behind on my bills like a lot of other people and have been receiving phone calls. When I saw this episode I thought boy I'm glad I haven't received a phone call like that. Well, over the weekend I received one. The woman had an accent, she said Mrs. so and so is very important for you to make this call. This is a serious matter, our number is. Again it is very important for you to make this call or we will take action against you. Make this call right now! Now had I not seen the Dateline episode I would have been scared shitless by this phone call! Thank you Chris Hansen! You can also watch the whole episode below..

Random Thoughts.

I'm supposed to be out running errands but here I am checking emails, posting and catching up. I haven't been able to use the PC a lot lately because of the kids so now it's even harder to detach myself from it, lol.

It is really cold inside my apartment even though outside is 60 degrees. That makes it harder for me to want to move around. I just want to crawl in the sofa with a cup of coffee. The kids are curled up in the sofa right now watching Heroes, Medium (really liked this episode, next week will be a better one!) and 24. Great episodes!

Well, I'm off to Duane Reade even though I don't want to! I was at Target yesterday and because I thought I had a enough tampones I didn't get any, now I have to pay more for it, ugh. Every time I have to go to Duane Reade I cringe unless is something I can't find anywhere else. Their prices are going up and fast! Compared to Walgreens and Rite Aid they are still the cheapest (to me) pharmacy though. I wish I didn't have to take a bus or a train to get to Target (their prices have been going up too!)! They need to open more stores. Then there is the 99 cents store, that store is my savior! We are on a tight budget so I get most of the things there. Every little cent counts! ♥ Pin It Now!

Happy Easter!

I can't say I celebrate Easter, I used to many years ago. With time I have forgotten about many of the traditions my family used to follow when I was young. Lately I have found myself trying to remember what is the meaning behind some of the holidays etc. I think it has to do with old age and of course not celebrating these days anymore. For those who do celebrate this day, hope you have a wonderful day with your familia...

Terminator: TSCC Season Finale!

If you read this and this posts you know I'm a FAN of Terminator: TSCC. I have been following comments about the TSCC season finale and almost everyone says the same thing! It was awesome, how can Fox cancel it, it rocked etc. It fucking rocked and I still have it on my DVR to watch it again! I hope to God they won't cancel this show. There is so much more to say after last night's season finale. I don't want to give too much away in case someone hasn't seen it yet. The look on John's face when he saw Cameron was priceless. Weaver's scene with Sarah was so damn good! I have become attached to all the characters. Someone said they opened another plot by mentioning the missing son, don't want to give out any spoilers. I realize that this is problaby falling on deaf ears, but I want more of this show, please Fox bring it back!!! I can't wait for T4 and I'm going to try really hard (it's expensive to go to the movies!) to go see it with my kids... Pin It Now!

Halle Berry Joins in.

Halle Berry joined the rest of the celebrities. She made her own fragrance. I'm curious what it smells like. Is it sexy, sensual, clean, flowery, musky or soft. If you are around Sears, JC Penney or Kohl's check it out! She looks so beautiful in this picture. I believe it was taken after she gave birth to her daughter Nahla. Pin It Now!

It's Friday again!

Tonight is the season finale of The Sarah Connor Chronicles and I can't wait!! Last week's episode had me on the edge of my sofa, lol. I watched it twice, it was so intense. It was like watching a movie, I wish Fox would give us 2 hours like they do with 24 (another show I watch). We haven't heard anything definite about the cancellation but I'm crossing my fingers that Fox will bring it back!! If you are a fan you can go here to vote, help bring back the show. Don't miss tonight's season finale!! Pin It Now!

Chris & Mariska to be Replaced?

According to this NBC's SVU main characters are asking for more money and NBC is not too happy about it. I can understand them not wanting to give in. Everyone wants to save money because of the recession. Each make over $7 million a year! That's a lot of money! The show is set to come back for season 11th, that's a long time. Most shows don't make it past season 8 so they should feel pretty lucky. I watch the show every week and I enjoy both characters a lot. I hope they can come to an agreement, it's hard to imagine the show without them. Although Mariska has been having health issues so I can understand if she decides to leave.

Friday Night TV!

I love Fridays because I get to relax and watch my shows until late. Tonight is one of my favorite shows The Sarah Connor Chronicles! I so love this show! I know many people have been saying that is going to be canceled or that it is canceled. I hope that is not the case because I want to see more of this show! I love the characters, Cameron cracks me up, lol. I also like the relationship John has with Cameron. Also, I have to say John Henry is growing on me, lol. I watch it with my kids every Friday and we record it in case we miss something. This show has many many fans. Sure some of the episodes have been a bit slow but you can't expect every episode to be full action etc. Fox, please don't canceled this show! Give us another season if not two!!

I also watch Dollhouse, another show people keep saying is not coming back. I like it and so does my daughter. I hope they are not going to give up on the show after just one season. I hate when shows get canceled just because they don't have millions and millions of viewers. What about the ones that are taking time to watch the show!

This episode is called Pizza Delivery and it cracks me up and makes me feel sorry for Spongebob at the same time, bendito. Am I the only vieja who thinks this show is funny? I hope I'm not!

TV Tonight!

As some of you know I'm a TV addict and I watch or record shows everyday. I don't know go out much so this is my form of entertainment and my escape from this crazy world. Wednesday's is one of favorite nights because of course is LOST night! I know I know some of you don't like it anymore but it still does it for me! I watch Life On Mars and just when I started to like it they canceled it! Sometimes I don't even bother with a show because things like this can happen at anytime but that is another story that I will blog about soon!

I also started watching Lie To Me and I love it! I like the cast and the chemistry between them. I like trying to find out who's lying before they tell you, lol. American Idol (I think is a repeat tonight) even though I didn't like watching it from the very beginning because some things are staged, this season I started watching it from the second or third week and I really enjoyed it. Last night was really good and I really liked Adam's performance. At first I was turned off because of the pictures that surfaced online but have to say he's truly talented and he can sing! He has a really good chance to win AI. This year most of them have a great voice so it is going to be tough. I really like Allison also, she has a great voice (and she's Latina) but she might get kicked out because of the song she picked last night. I hope she doesn't! I have a feeling Anoop, Megan and Allison are going to be in the bottom three. I like Megan's voice and her singing style a lot but the last song wasn't a good one for the judges (I liked it). Lil (why would her mother give her that name) had a good performance also and she can sing! I felt so bad for Matt, he didn't think they were going to say his performance (I liked it) was bad. I wanted to give him a hug...

Another show I watch is Damages! Glen Close is so good on this show. I don't think anyone else would play that character better than her. Just when you start to hate her she makes you like her!

I also watch Law & Order but tonight is a repeat. So there you have it, the shows I watch on Wednesdays... Pin It Now!
