One good dog adoption story deserves thousands more! In honor of the Hallmark Hall of Fame world premiere of A DOG NAMED CHRISTMAS, we're helping Petfinder.com give every dog adoption story a happy ending.
This holiday season, Petfinder.com is kicking off the first ever “Foster A Lonely Pet For the Holidays” program in conjunction with the movie A DOG NAMED CHRISTMAS. Based on Greg Kincaid's popular novel, it's a touching story about a developmentally challenged young man who names his adopted dog Christmas and sets out to convince the whole town to participate in a local animal shelter's inaugural “Adopt a Dog for Christmas Program.”
Similarly, Petfinder.com is working with more than 2,000 shelters and rescue groups across North America to give families a chance to adopt a pet this holiday season.
Potential dog and cat owners can visit petfinder.com/foster-a-lonely-pet to learn if their local shelter is participating in the program.
All are encouraged to tune in to the Hallmark Hall of Fame world premiere of A DOG NAMED CHRISTMAS on Sunday, November 29 at 9/8c only on CBS. Learn more about this pet fostering program at the Hallmark Hall of Fame.

Great Movie To Watch With Your Family!
I've seen commercials about this movie and I think it is a great movie to watch with your family. I wish more movies like these would air through out the year and not only for the holidays. It's Sunday and it is a great way to end the weekend. Spending some time with the familia watching a movie with no worries that something inappropriate is going to come up! The movie airs tonight at 9:00 PM on CBS. If it is too late for the kiddies you can always record it and watch it another day. Below you can read what the movie is about and you can participate in Foster A Lonely Pet. Happy Sunday!♥

PhotoHunt - Technology.
Ok, on to my PhotoHunt. Haven't done it in a while and I'm late but better late than never. This week's PhotoHunt is Technology! If you would like to join the fun click on the link. This picture was taken by my son, he was playing Kill Zone 2. Happy Saturday or Happy Sunday depending where you are!♥

We Enjoyed Our Day.
I meant to write this post yesterday but my computer has been acting up since Thursday night. Our Thanksgiving dinner was peaceful and fun. One of my neighbors had a really loud party like they do almost every weekend. Thank God the walls are thick, we didn't hear the music like it was in front of our door. My downstairs neighbor, again thank God decided to have a party for his guests and himself only and didn't played the music loud, I was sooo relieved you have no idea!
Anyway, my pernil came out delish, I was extremely happy! I seasoned it in a hurry the night before and I didn't think it was going to taste good. It was juicy and it had cuerito as you can see in the picture. Anyone who is Latino knows how important the cuerito is, lol. Que rico! We enjoyed our dinner chit chatting and then had dessert. It was also delish! I bought a variety box of cheesecakes and I wasn't dissapointed at all. Take a look at the picture, doesn't it look good? I'm glad I took a chance and bought it. We also bought pumpkin pie and my son liked that one a lot, lol. He's doesn't like cheesecake, he can be a picky eater. We had leftovers of everything so we enjoyed another delicious dinner the night after.
After dessert, we saw the movie Angels and Demons and it was a really good movie. The dvd has two version, the theatrical and the extended, we decided to see the extended. Before the weekend is over we want to see the theatrical, we want to see how much they left out. If you want to enjoy a good movie in my opinion this is one you should see. There is nothing innapropiate in it other than some paintings that didn't reveal much so you can see it with young kids, not that they would understand it much. Next in our list is Transformers 2, Star Trek and Up!
Well, that was our Thanksgiving dinner! Nothing extravagant but we enjoyed it and we were able to eat in peace without having to worry about anything, I thank God for that...♥♥ Pin It Now!

Happy Thanksgiving - Feliz Día de Acción de Gracias!
My pernil is in the oven and the smell of garlic is all over the apartment. I love it! Nope, I don't make turkey, made it once and didn't like preparing it. It was gross to me, lol. Sorry but that's what happened, I decided to stick with what I like best! The kids love it and they haven't complained yet. I'm making the basics, arroz con gandules, tostones, ensalada de papas, jellied cranberry sauce (from a can!), pumpkin pie (bought it too, lol) and all kinds of cheesecakes, yum!
We are staying in so we rented some movies and all of them are good ones. Better than going to movies, great food and laying on our comfy couch. We have Angels & Demons, Stark Trek, Transformers 2 and Up. One for each day, if we can wait that is. I can hear everyone getting in the festive mood playing music. As long as my neighbor doesn't put it loud to the point I can't hear my TV, I do not mind.
I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving/Un Feliz Día de Acción de Gracias. Stay safe and have fun with your love ones. No coman mucho, ni se emborrachen!/Don't eat too much or get drunk! LOL ♥♥

Songs For Different Moods.
I love music as you can see and I am recently rediscovering it all over again. I had stopped listening to music for a while. I was stuck living in an apartment where my neighbor was a crazy bitch and one of her ways of making my life a living hell was playing music extremely loud. Now that I moved, I can finally enjoy myself!
I don't know about you but I have a song for each mood. When I'm going out and I feel down to the point I have to drag myself (which is basically every time), I play music while I'm taking a shower or getting dressed. Sometimes, I'm in the mood for some revenge kick someones ass type of music, feeling like I'm on top of the world even if I'm not kind of music, feeling down and in need of releasing my emotions, when I feel sexy like a hot Mama or reminiscing about some of the good old days. Not all the old days were good, lol. So here (raises cup of coffee) is to music, for getting me through some fucked up times and making me see the light at the end of the tunnel...♥

Don't You Love It When...
When you find something you need and you find it at a cheap price? Or when you find a product that turned out to taste really good? I went to Target on Thursday, I had been putting it off all week, but we no longer had soap or baby powder (we must have baby powder!) and I didn't want to go to the pharmacy to buy a pack of 3/4 that was going to cost me as much as the pack of ten I buy at Target. Finally we went on Thursday, under the rain. I usually go straight to whatever I need (I write a list), this time I decided to browse, lol. I'm glad I did because I found two things I needed for a very cheap price. A spatula and a rolling pin, you can see them in the picture. I'm not a heavy baker like my Blogger amigas, NewYorkChica and Mami Dearest. I bake cakes from a box twice a month, so this spatula is good enough for me. Plus I got two for the price of one and they are Christmasy! I also got a rolling pin that I only bought to make empanadillas, which is not often even though I like them a lot. I didn't have a roller (kept forgetting) so it was a hassle to thin out the dough, lol. One bad thing about this trip, when you browse you end up spending more that you plan to, which is exactly what happened and I ended up feeling guilty as we left the mall...
Like Target, when I go the supermarket I go straight to what I need and leave. This time again, I decided to take my time to see if I could find something different. Well, we were looking for grape jam and I saw a product called Cajeta Quemada/Burnt Caramel. As you can see is a Latino product. I thought it looked yummy and we had ice cream so I thought why not try it. It tastes delicious! The best one I have tried so far. Not only did we used it for ice cream but we have apples that turned to be sour. We cut them in small pieces and ate them with the cajeta, yum! Oh yes...I have a sweet tooth, that's why I'm so gordita, he, he.♥

So Cute!
I was reading Holy Cuteness when I saw this video and I just had to have it! It's amazing how intelligent animals can be. The parrot looks so healthy, at first I wasn't sure if it was real! You can hear in the background they have more birds. They sound so nice. If it wasn't because I live in a small apartment I would definitely have one more pet. We have a cat and he's my third baby, lol. Anyway, here is the video! Enjoy...♥ Monday, November 16, 2009
Review of NetFlix PS3 Streaming.
As many of you know by now, Netflix is now streaming movies thorough Playstation 3! We are extremely happy about this! I for one don't like renting TV shows because there just too many dvd's you have to rent and it would take me forever to see them unless I have the plan of four dvd's which I don't. To set it up you have to send for a CD from Netflix which is free and it has to be inserted in the PS3 every time you want to stream something. Put the CD in, follow the instructions and voila you will be ready to watch movies and TV shows in no time. If you have a unlimited plan you will be able to stream unlimited movies/TV shows. Another extremely cool thing is that not only you can stream from your TV you can also stream from the computer at the same time depending on the plan you have. You are able to stream from up to 6 devices at the same time!
Of course you have to have a broadband connection and the faster the better. If your connection is being used by multiple devices, such as a computer or another PS, the movie/TV show might slow down a bit and give you the buffering message. Also, you can activate and deactivate the PS3 whenever you like in case you don't want your kids to watch movies/TV shows they are not allowed to while you are not at home. Then again you can always hide the CD, lol.
I tested it with the first episode of Heroes and it looks really good, very close to when you watch it on regular TV. Not every movie or TV show is going to look like that though. When you are browsing on your PS3 you are going to see HD underneath the movie or TV show, those are the ones that are going to have very good quality. I'm sure with time the quality will be better but for now is good enough for me. I can watch all the TV shows I don't get to see because I don't have any premium channels and that is a big plus! Then there are the movies that are not so much about the special effects but about the dialogue and I have plenty of those on my Queue!
Thumbs up to NetFlix for adding PS3 streaming!! Yes, I admit it, I'm a movie and TV junkie! Can't afford to go the movies often so NetFlix keeps me satisfied, lol.♥

Life & Friday Fill-Ins.
So happy it's Friday! I spent almost the whole week running around with errands and appointments and I'm ready to relax. To watch some movies, catch up with some Blogs and spend time with the kids. Although as I write this I'm also writing my grocery list so when I finish with this post I can leave. Hopefully it won't be raining, not a good combination. Thankfully my son or daughter always go with me. Tonight my son will be going with me. My daughter is out with her friends. It's weird saying it out loud. She recently started going out with friends and of course I worry a lot even though I encourage her to go out. This is one of those occasions where I'm really really happy with the invention of cell phones! I can contact her at any time when my worries creep up. What can I say, she's still and will always be my baby...♥
Ok, on to my Friday Meme. It has been a long time since my last Meme. Have been in a non blogging mood lately but little by little I'm getting my mojo back. Here is my Friday Fill-Ins for today. If you would like to join the fun click on the link or the image below. Happy Friday!♥
1. The last band I saw live was, I really haven't seen a band live.
2. What I look forward to most on Thanksgiving is cooking dinner for mis hijos/my children and seeing them enjoy it. (if you don't celebrate thanksgiving, insert your favorite holiday)
3. My Christmas/holiday shopping is, well I don't have one yet.
4. Thoughts of bills and worrying about my kids fill my head.
5. I wish I could wear sexy clothes like I used to.
6. Bagpipes, never seen one in person.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to doing some blogging, tomorrow my plans include running errands, watching a movie and Sunday, I want to catch up with my TV shows and watching a grown up movie, Rachel Getting Married!

Spanish Songs I Grew Up With...
I have been listening to a lot of music lately and I started reminiscing about the music I grew up with. In our home there was always music playing. Not loud because my grandmother didn't like disturbing the neighbors. Even though I wouldn't listen most of the time. Funny thing is now that I'm old I understand what she meant, lol. We always celebrated every birthday and almost every holiday. I enjoyed the music and even though it was music for grown ups and I didn't understand half of what it meant I loved singing and dancing along. Every time I hear them it brings such good memories of my life in Puerto Rico. When life used to be less complicated and we weren't consumed by tech stuff and social networking, lol. I'm glad we have youtube.com where you can find almost anything. I wanted to share with you when they were actually singing these songs back in the days so the videos do not look good but you can still hear the music and see how they were. Enjoy!♥
