PhotoHunt - Utensils.

Was going to post this earlier but I was so sleepy I couldn't keep my eyes open. I'm finally awake again so here I am. Has been a semi quiet Saturday so far, hope it stays that way! Later I'm going to watch a movie con mis hijos/with my children. I hope it's good.

Tonight it's hot dog night, kind of hot to be in the kitchen. My daughter doesn't like hot dogs much so I have to make something for her, I'm hoping she does go for the hot dogs though, lol. Mis hijos are easy to please, thank God! Well, they have to be because I'm not a good cook. I take that back, I don't know how to cook a lot of things, lets put it that way!

It's time to do a PhotoHunt again! This week's theme is Utensils. My son took this one as usual, lol. He likes to take random pictures and thanks to him I didn't had to look hard. If you would like to join the fun visit tnchick.com. Enjoy your weekend!♥

Life, Hijos & Movies.

Sorry haven't been around lately but have been busy with life and doctors appointments. Was put on new medicines and some of the side effects of one of the meds are not pretty. Hope they will go away after a week or two if not I will have to change it. One of the side effects is feeling tired and very sleepy so I'm not in the mood to blog much. I sit, start typing and then my mind goes blank, lol. Hopefully I will be able to keep my eyes open for this post!

Anyway, it's Friday! And even though I am glad is Friday now that my neighbor decided to start with his ghettoness I have started to dread Saturdays. Hopefully nothing will happen and I will get to have a semi quiet weekend watching a movie and catching up with my shows. I rented Twilight finally, though my son was complaining and said that he wasn't going to see no 90210 style vampire movie, lol. That I could watch it with my daughter and he was going to use the computer, lol. My daughter already saw it and she liked it. She didn't wanted to see it either because she felt like my son. I'll be the judge, I said, lol.

I also rented The Terminator on Blu ray because my son never saw it completely. I thought it was going to look really good but I was disappointed. The picture quality was poor, I know it's an old movie but I have seen other old movies and the picture quality was better. I didn't remember some of the parts and I was shocked to see Arnold's pájaro/bird/penis dangling! I mean I know they showed his butt but not his pájaro, lol. They don't show it up close, you can see it in the dark swinging as he's walking! My son looked away because he didn't wanted to see it and my daughter hesitated but after all she's about to be 20, lol. She said ewww but at the same time was giggling, then she said I can't believe I saw Arnold's thing! Well, it had to happen some time. Not that I'm saying I'm going to watch a movie with her where they have a full blown love scene in it. She would be mortified and so would I!

Talking about sex scenes I saw the indie film Descent with Rosario Dawson recently, wanted to rent it, but decided to stream it from Netflix instead. So glad I didn't rented it! The movie is dark and sometimes disturbing. Not saying the movie is not good although I felt it dragged on and I found myself forwarding it in some parts. I wasn't expecting what happened and was a bit disgusted. I like the element of surprise when I see a movie so I didn't read what it was about. If you are into dark movies you might want to see this one. I'm not going to spoil it but it will definitely stay in your mind for some time. At least it did to me.

I also saw The Jane Austen Book Club and A Good Woman. First one it's a chick flick with Amy Brenneman, Kathy Baker & Emily Blunt. I really enjoyed it, a great movie to watch with your girlfriends. Was sad I didn't rented it and saw it online instead. Would've enjoyed it a lot more. Second movie was good too with Helen Hunt and Scarlet Johansson and was pleasantly surprised by Helen Hunt. She played the role very good. Another movie I wish I had rented instead of streaming it from Netflix. Something about seeing it on a small screen (19" monitor) and with a not so good quality just doesn't let me enjoy the movie as much...♥

PhotoHunt - Rock(s), Garbage & Life.

Hello! Like my friend at NewYorkChica, I wanted to clean today but so far I haven't done much because I have been on the computer, lol. I sit and say I'll just check my email and read the news, that's it. Then I end up checking my blog, other blogs, Twitter, Plurk and I start chit chatting! It's addicting, lol. Are we the only ones? LOL

I rented 2 movies to watch tonight and tomorrow. We rented Push and Knowing, hopefully both movies will rock and my night will go smoothly unlike last week's Saturday that it was hell because the bastard downstairs decided to have a party at 10:30PM that lasted until after 4AM! They even had the door open like the party was supposed to be for the whole fucking block and the building.

My blood pressure was through the roof, I was so pissed. Had to take a cold shower to calm down because I felt like I was going to faint. Then the party spilled to the sidewalk so not only did I had to hear the music like if it was inside my apartment because the music was extremly loud but I had to hear them and their music through the windows as well, fuck! It's still early so I'm not safe yet. I pray that we won't have the same shit tonight...

Anyway, I didn't have time to post last week's PhotoHunt - Garbage so I'm going to add it as well. Fortunately I had plenty of pictures for today's theme, Rock(s). They were taken at Central Park last year when we went for a picnic. If you would like to join the fun go to TNChick.com!

Friday Fill-Ins, Life & MJ's Memorial.

So glad it's Friday! I have to go out but I'm waiting until it gets a bit cooler. Damn, it is too hot today! I gave in and turned on the AC. I had planned on going to the park or something but I changed my mind after looking at how high it was going to be today. I know it hasn't been in the 90's yet and I'm complaining but because I'm a heavy person I sweat like if it is in the 90's! Thank God tomorrow is not going to be as bad...

Last night I finally finished watching Michael Jackson's Memorial. It was beautiful. I cried when they showed his pictures and the part where he was singing Smokey's song when he was a kid. Then of course there was the part where Paris talked. She looked uncomfortable and nervous but I'm glad she talked because we got to see how much they love him. I hope she wasn't forced though. At the end of Jennifer Hudson's performance when they had Michael Jackson sort of like whispering, that was intense for me. Made me cry also..

I really enjoyed the stories about Michael Jackson, especially the ones from Brooke Shields, Magic Johnson and Smokey Robinson. It was weird and almost sickening to see his father with a big smile from ear to ear when the celebrities would go offer their condolences. While everyone else was crying and teary eye, he was almost high fiving some of the celebrities!

I know Mariah apologized for her performance but I can understand her not being able to sing well. She was the first one to sing so it had to be emotional. Usher choked up at the end of his performance. Stevie Wonder and John Meyer, wow I loved their performances! Al Sharpton's speech was a bit over done but I really liked the part where he said "There was nothing strange about your Daddy, it was strange what your Daddy had to deal with" Very well said. I am so glad they didn't have any stupid actors/comedians trying to be funny. All in all it was a beautiful memorial. There are rumors that for his birthday they are going to have another memorial in London, I'll be watching.

Well, on to today's Friday Fill-Ins! If you would like to join click on the link, come on it's fun. Enjoy your weekend!♥

I Made Limbers, yum!

My daughter reminded me about limbers the other day. She loves them and I hadn't made them in a long time. For those who doesn't know what a limber is. Limber is a frozen treat made of juice, coconut milk, milk, cookies, fruits. Basically anything you like. It's usually sold for 50 cents to a dollar per cup. Back in the days though when I lived in Puerto Rico they use to be 5 cents per cube that were made in the metal ice trays and then put on a small cupcake wrapper like. Then as time went by the price went up to 15 to 25 cents per cup. We would sit in a corner to chit chat while savoring our limbers. It was a great treat after dinner or when it was really hot. I'm sure the Señora made good money from selling limbers. We bought a lot!

Limbers De Galleta

I have my own way of making them but here are some recipes I got from google. All but one are in Spanish, sorry about that. There are some good flavors below. I make mine of galletas/cookies, I use the Nilla wafers. Don't know if those are the ones that people use but they work for me. I skip the egg and I don't use the blender because I no longer have one. Enjoy!♥

Michael Jackson's Memorial.

Well, tomorrow is Michael Jackson's memorial. I know, you are probably thinking not another Michael Jackson post. Up until now I didn't blogged about it but I am a fan and this is my Blog and I can write about him if I want to, coño!

I wish I was one of the lucky ones to be at his memorial tomorrow. I know that place is going to be packed even if the majority won't have tickets to go inside. Just being outside will be good enough for people. The LAPD assistant Chief said for people not to show up if they don't have tickets. I doubt that's going to make a difference. Even the British are coming to the memorial, according to TMZ a rep for British Airway said they have seen a big increase in reservations to fly to LA or close to it. They say close to a million people may show up! That's a lot of people! I hope they can keep everything running smoothly...

Whether some people want to admit it or not he was The King of Pop y como él no habrá ninguno/and there will be no one like him. Sure he turned into a weird and eccentric person. Anything you want to call him but like his brother said he had the same heart and was full of talent. And what a talent! When I heard he was going to tour one more time I was so happy for him. He was going to be close to his fans once again and show everyone he was still the King of Pop. So so sad he never got to experience that.

When I heard he had died the first thing I thought of was his kids. He never got to see them grow up. He looked like he was a great father and sure a mother as well. I wondered that night if he could see them and if he was happy where he was or if he was crying because he left them too soon and never saw them grow up. I hope they will be well taken care of and filled with love. I hope the court will keep the vultures away and allow those kids to have privacy!

Talking about vultures, I hear all the celebrities talking about him, how he was this and that but where were they when he was alive? Like his father said when he was on the red carpet on his way to the BET awards I believe 'I wish they would have done this while he was alive'. After the whole mess with the molestation case no one wanted to be seen with him I guess even though he was never proven guilty. And I guess that's why he had a hard time trusting people. Like they say when you are in deep shit that's when you know who your real friends are. Even those who claim to had been his close friends said mean things now that he is dead. Liza Minnelli was one of them, she called The Early Show and said;

"All those who knew him well really know what he was like, and I'm sure that now the accolades are going and I'm sure when the autopsy comes, all hell's going to break loose," Liza said cryptically. "So thank God we're celebrating him now."
What a hypocrite! Whether is true or not, what happened to respect for the family? His kids? You know the pain they are going through and yet you go and make things worse by saying something like that while claiming to be his friend. I wonder how she sleeps at night, I hope that one night he pulls her toes!

I still remember when he did the moonwalk for the first time. I was living in Puerto Rico and was watching it on a 13 inch TV. It was a small TV and the reception was bad but I didn't care, I was in awe. Seeing the way he was dancing and singing. When I saw Thriller, my jaw dropped I couldn't believe what I was seeing. He changed the way videos were made. I kept watching it over and over, it was like a movie to me, lol. From there I was always trying to learn his moves and would play his record everyday! I would even dress like him, lol. And I looked hot too! Yes, I was a Michael Jackson wannabe! There are still plenty of wannabes, that's how good he was. They will never be close to what he was though, no matter how hard they try!

Rest in Peace Michael, you will be missed..♥♥

Madonna's Tribute to Michael Jackson.

Madonna paid tribute to Michael Jackson on Saturday night in London during one of her shows. She had an impersonator do Michael Jackson's moves and the crowd went wild! Would have been really cool to see it in person. Hopefully they will air it on TV someday. Here is a video, looks awesome! The music was extremely loud so you will hear the bass booming a lot. The second one was taken by my son when we went to Central Park last year also. The second one is a bit blurry but you can see the color. Friday Fill-Ins.

So glad is Friday! Nice day here a bit cloudy and not too hot and I'm loving it. I was walking around under the sun all week and got a suntan, even my feet because I was wearing flip flops! I need a break from the sun..

The temperature dropped a bit last night and because the kids have a window fan my daughter woke up with a sore throat, stuffy nose and a raspy voice. Had to make her a hot chocolate. Now she's laying on the sofa watching iCarly. Hopefully it will be a one day thing because I'm not feeling too good myself. Have been with a migraine since yesterday, went to sleep with one and woke with one so I'm trying to relax as much as possible.

Anyway, on to today's Friday Fill-Ins! If you would like to join the fun click on the link. You get to discover cool new blogs, come join the fun!

A Walk in Times Square.

I went to for a walk through Times Square with my son not too long ago. It was a nice day and we were bored, lol. We took some pictures with my son's cell phone. Last time we went there was last year. It has changed a bit. They closed off some parts as you may already know. Now people can sit down and do people watching, lol. I think it's a great idea. That area it is always so full, it's hard to walk. The day we went it was extremely crowded! My son wasn't happy about it of course, neither was I but I still enjoy the city.

There were the occasional Boricua Boricua chanting from Boricua's carrying a Puerto Rico flag because it was the Sunday of the Puerto Rican parade. A whole group joined in, lol. People were stopping to look at them, I'm assuming tourists. Then there were the guys selling Obama condoms which annoyed me since this is a place where families go. I mean do we really need to have condoms shoved in our faces. There are plenty of pharmacies around there to get some.

I had forgotten they closed the Virgin Store. I always enjoyed going there to look around. They had so many goodies to look at. Especially during Christmas shopping they had good sales. I loved the t-shirts, bags, belts etc. I'm going to miss it. It still empty, I wonder what are they going open next. It's a big space to fill!

We couldn't sit and do some people watching ourselves because all the seats were taken. We stopped for a while to look around for a place to sit but nada. Guess one has to go early to find a good seat. Although Times Square never sleeps! We had a good time, it has changed a lot since the days when I used to go and stay until 3 AM hanging around. Even when the kids were small we would go and stay until late. Just something about Times Square that pulls you in. Ahhh, the good old days...

The pictures quality is not good because they were taken with a cell but I fixed them up a bit. Last two pictures were taken by my son.

Times Square
I wanted to sit on those bleachers in the back, lol.
