Junta Hispana - Flushing Meadow Park!

This Sunday is the event Junta Hispana at Flushing Meadow Park. Where 20 Spanish speaking countries get together to celebrate their culture, music, traditions etc. This event is not only in New York but also in Chicago (was on July 26), Houston (October 18), Los Angeles (October 11) and Miami (Dec. 6). Best of all is free!

The event is going to be divided in 5 areas. Where you will be able to enjoy all types of food, crafts and music. There will be giveaways and you will get to try new products from their sponsors. For the little ones, Nickelodeon's Spongebob and Diego will be there from 1 PM - 4 PM!

I have never heard of this event but it looks like a place where you can experience a lot in just one day without having to travel to all 20 countries! See all different type of crafts and taste different types of food. Enjoy their music and learn about their traditions.

Flushing Meadow Park is one of my favorite places to spend some quiet time with mis hijos/my children. Haven't been there in a long time but depending on how I feel Sunday I may take a little trip down there. You should too! You can visit their site JuntaHispana.net for more information and a video of past events so you can have an idea of what you will be experiencing. Happy weekend!♥ Pin It Now!

Life & PhotoHunt - Upside Down

This weekend went by so fast! I keep thinking is Saturday. I have been awake since 4 AM, wasn't sleepy so I started doing laundry. I'm still doing laundry! Going to take a break soon and go back to it later tonight.

We went to do some shopping on Friday and got home pretty late and tired! We walked a lot trying to find some things my son needed for school. Didn't get everything because I ran out of cash so it will have to wait for some time this week. You know things start adding up and when you get to the cashier girl you gasp in horror because it came up to too much! My daughter ended up getting a much needed wallet (in NY you need a wallet that is easy to get your $ out) from Marshall's. Funny thing is she had forgotten about it then a lady asked us to give her a purse she left behind while in line to pay (she changed her mind and decided to buy it) and when my daughter gave it to her the wallet fell on the floor. It was only $10, guess it was fate, he, he.

Yesterday I spent the day recharging my batteries, my back and my legs were killing me! I slept a lot, one of the reasons why I woke up at 4 AM and couldn't go back to sleep. In the evening I went to the supermarket with my son. We had pizza (supermarket didn't have Digiorno so I had to buy another kind, ugh) for dinner and then watched Supernatural and Fringe. Great episodes, btw! Fringe beginning was awesome and disturbing!

I didn't post my PhotoHunt yesterday so here it is. This week's theme is upside down. It took me some time to find a picture for this theme! I was about to give up when I found it, lol. This was taken by my daughter last year when we went to the movies. If you would like to join PhotoHunt click on the link or the badge. Happy Sunday.♥

TV, TV & More TV!

I know by now everyone knows that on More to Love Luke picked Tali. I'm so happy for her, for both! I loved the season finale. My daughter and I were glued to the TV, lol. We were looking at everyone faces to see if we saw anything that would tell us who he was going to pick. We sort of knew he was going to pick Tali because they showed the hands on the commercial and they looked like hers. Still, we were surprised when he told Malissa his heart belonged to someone else, you are never sure with these shows. We were "OMG"! At first she was pissed and that's why she left right away. Which it was the right thing to do. Why bother staying and talking. She started crying on the limo when she asked herself what she (Tali) has that I don't...

My damn DVR was full because I haven't had time to watch all the shows so it stopped recording 2 minutes before! We were praying we could at least see who won. It stopped recording when he gave her the ring and kissed her. That was so cruel, lol. We were so into the show and then it stopped! My daughter was pissed but giddy at the same time, lol. We had to wait 24 hours to watch the rest of the episode. I enjoyed the show and I hope they will renew it and that they will keep using the same formula and not turn it into a slut fest for the sake of ratings. He was very respectful and that's why we enjoyed the show.

Fringe starts tonight! We might not watch it live tonight but I'm recording it to watch it later or tomorrow because my son has school. We have been dying for the show to start. My son kept asking through the whole summer when is Fringe going to start. He kept saying are you sure it starts that day? LOL.

The season finale episode left us with lots of questions so this first episode should be very interesting! Anyone else who is a fan of Fringe?

Another show, Supernatural! First episode of the season rocked! It was full of surprises! Have to say I love love what they did with the portion where they show the Supernatural letters in the beginning, it was so damn cool. Plus the music makes your adrenaline pump, lol.

What can I say like Margie and Edna, we are all fans of Supernatural here. Well, my son is not the into the show for the boys, lol. Castiel, I am so happy that Papi is back, lol. He brings some cojones to the show and I love it! My daughter has a crush on him, lol. Hell, even Bobby looks hot! Bobby scared the hell out of me on last week's episode, shit. Can't wait for tonight's episode! Yes, I have nothing to do life and I am sure I'm not the only one!♥ Pin It Now!

What Do You Need Most?

I saw this Quiz some time ago at Freaky Frugalite and decided to saved the site to take it later. Here is my result! I think the results are somewhat accurate, he, he...♥

You Need Acceptance

You aren't truly happy in life unless you are able to accept yourself, flaws and all.

You also need to be accepted by other people. You like feeling you belong and that you're not being judged.

You are a welcoming and open minded person. It's not hard for you to accept others for who they are.

You believe that everyone is happiest when we live without judgement or prejudice. And you're doing your part to make that happen.

Random Thoughts.

I'm feeling so blah today. I think part of it has to do with reading the news, it gets me so anxious.
Autopsy Results Withheld in Yale Killing. I wasn't going to read it but her face kept pulling me. I prayed that she just got cold feet and decided she didn't wanted to get married anymore. So sad it ended this way, my prayers to her family. I am glad they are withholding information about the case, one little thing can easily mess up the whole case. I hope they catch who did it and send him to jail forever.

Tonight's is the finale of More To Love! We get to 2 hours, my daughter loves this show! I hope it doesn't turn into a slut fest if it gets renewed, which I hope it does. I keep joking to my kids that I'm going to enter the show, they say Ay Ma'. He, he. I'm excited to see who he's going to pick. I sooo hope he picks Taly!!

I got a haircut not too long ago and now I'm regretting I didn't cut it shorter. I dread having to wash my hair because is long and it takes me a some time to wash it and style it.

Whenever I need a smile or feel better I like to look at this Blog Holy Cuteness! It has the cutest animals pictures and videos! I fell in love with three of the latest posts. Parrot Sings Songs, Farm Dog Adopts Baby Piglet and Monkey Plays with Dachshund.

In the past 4 weeks I have won 2 giveaways! The first one from New York Chica (shampoo and conditioner from Ecostore USA) and the second one from Latina on a Mission (Book America Libre written by Raul Ramos). Yay, me!

As the whole world knows by now, Kanye West is an asshole. Doesn't matter how many times he apologized or how he apologized. He is still an asshole. For him to want to put the spotlight on him so he can get some press by stealing the moment from Taylor Swift it was a major fuck up on his part. It was her moment he had no right to do that even if some people think it was funny.

I wonder why cats meow at the walls or when a room is closed with no one inside. At least mine does. He was doing it last night and he was very persistent about it and loud! I opened the door from the bathroom, he went in and came back out and kept meowing at the wall. It's not the first time he has done it either. Anyone knows?

PhotoHunt - Electric & TV

Last week I didn't do PhotoHunt. Was having some computer issues and I couldn't find a picture for the PhotoHunt - Orange, at least I didn't see one. Got frustrated and gave up looking! My computer seems to be working fine for now and I found a few pictures for this week's theme Electric! I'm late in the day again but better late than never. If you would like to join the fun, click on the link for the badge below!

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. I have been vegging out, catching up with my shows. Haven't seen Supernatural yet, I'm staying away from spoilers! I also recorded Vampire Diaries and I have to say I'm going to keep watching and see what happens. I rented two movies and plan to watch one later. We rented The Uninvited & Interview with a Vampire. Last one is an oldie but I barely remember it and the kids haven't seen it. As you can see I have been in the mood of watching something scary lately, lol...♥

Hectic week!

Today I got home soaked because it was so windy all the rain was blowing from behind and my umbrella kept blowing everywhere, lol. Still I managed to do grocery shopping after I ran some errands, had to basically force my son to bring the shopping cart to the supermarket because he didn't wanted to go back out. He kept saying but Ma' just come home and rest a bit and then go back out. I said no way, when I get home I'm going to rest and I am not moving for some time! So glad I didn't give into my son's whining and got it done!

This week was a crazy one, a lot of running around with my son going back to school and getting a few things at the last minute. We left his haircut for the last minute and boy when we got to the Barbershop they had at least 10 guys/kids waiting. We went to get a few things and came back an hour later, still had to wait some more but finally we got it done! Was glad to be out of there, lol. It was time for them to close but it started getting full again.

I also had some doctors appointment and had to rescheduled one because when I get anxious I get the runs. Sorry if it is TMI! I even fell asleep on the train and heard myself snore a bit! The horror! LOL I am glad the week is over... Pin It Now!

Bronx Gateway Mall

During this past weekend we finally went to the new Gateway Mall in the Bronx. We got off at the wrong stop so we had to walk at least 4 to 6 blocks to get there but it was worth it, we really liked what they did with the area. I have never been to that area before but I have seen pictures of how it used to be. This Mall is going to bring a much needed shopping area with good stores. Right now the stores/restaurants they have open are Best Buy, Marshall's, BJ's, Staples, Home Depot, Game Stop, Payless, T-Mobile, Raymour & Flanigan, Applebee's and Target. The stores that are opening soon are Bed Bath and Beyond, Youngworld, Conway, Toys "R" Us, Babies "R" Us and Michael's. They should open an Old Navy and a Cinabon (I have to go to Queens to get those), yum! There is plenty of parking space (even though you have to pay) and you can take the stairs, elevators or the escalators to go around all six floors!

I'm very happy we finally have a Target that is a bit closer than the one I have been going to. It's a big one, they even have a Pizza Hut and a Starbucks kiosk with plenty of tables. I immediately thought of my friend New York Chica, she used to love Starbucks! I found everything I needed and more. They had a portion with some delicious pastries, we bought a french baguette, never had one and wanted to try it, lol. Went to Staples also to get notebooks and pens since I use the Staple brand not the name brand. Very spacious but I had to leave right away because Staples is like a candy store for me, lol. I love office supplies! We wanted to go to Best Buy and Marshall's but it was 8 PM and we were tired.

I'm also very happy we finally have a BJ's close by. We got there and shoppers were coming out in bunches from BJ's with shopping carts full to the top with cereal, hot dog buns, french toast, paper towels, laundry detergent, etc. Of course they were big packages, BJ's is going to be making a lot of money with that branch! I plan on going but I don't have a membership yet so that has to be taken care of first.

Two things I didn't like though and I'm hoping it will change as time goes by. There were no places to eat close by except Applebee's and Target. Not everyone can afford to eat at those places, heck I have never been to Applebee's! I'm hoping Mc Donald's, Burger King, Wendy's and Dunkin Donuts will see the potential and will open soon. The other thing was there were a few people trying to spoil everyone's time there by acting like idiots. There was a woman sitting close to the entrance of BJ's talking on her cell phone, she was screaming to the top of her lungs "Bitch you are my fucking babysitter, you do whatever the fuck I tell you!". She continued on and on and she was a security guard from one of the stores! I walked as fast as I could, can't take people like that.

Aside from the few idiots, some unruly children and the fact that we had to wait until we got home to eat dinner we had a great time. We are going again soon to check the other stores. It is close to the Yankee Stadium. You can get there by taking the #4 train. Target is open until 11 PM on Mon-Sat Sun until 10 PM. The other stores are open until 9 or 10 PM.

Thursday Thirteen & Thursday Thunks!

Hello! Sorry I haven't been blogging a lot lately. Have been busy, I come online to catch up a bit and check emails then I'm off again. So here I am trying to catch up with my Blog because tomorrow I'm going to be out most of the day.

Can't believe the summer is gone already! I'm definitely enjoying the weather. My daughter started school and she's so happy. She gets excited about getting the new books, school supplies and she was tired of being home everyday! My son however, his school starts next week and I'm not looking forward to the whole wake up, go to sleep, finish your homework routine. I want to pull my hair sometimes, lol. Plus I enjoy having them home, I know I might the only one though, lol.

Anyway, it's time for Thursday Thirteen again! My list this week is about some other TV shows I started watching during the summer. If you would like to join the T13, click on the link or the image below!

  1. LA Ink
  2. More to Love
  3. Warehouse 13
  4. Hawthorne
  5. Dark Blue
  6. Making Over America With Trinny & Susan
  7. Lottery Changed My Life
  8. Mental
  9. Bridezillas
  10. What Not To Wear
  11. Merlin
  12. Truth Be Told
  13. Amazing Wedding Cakes

It's also time for Thursday Thunks! I really enjoy this Meme, you never know what questions you might get, lol. If you would like to join the fun click on the link or the image below. Have fun!

1. Your thoughts on truck drivers?

I would like to learn how to drive one myself! Although it has to be hard for them to be away from their families.

2. Did you hear Michelle Duggar is pregnant for the 15th time? (but that will be kid #19 if you lost count....)

Ridiculous!

3. Have you ever done something to hurt someone intentionally... just for the sole purpose of hurting them because you thought they deserved it? Maybe a paybacks a bitch sort of thing?

Yes but nothing illegal or drastic. If you knew the person you would understand!

4. Is there anyone in your life that when you go to their place of residence, you just walk in without bother knocking? Does anyone just walk into your house without knocking?

Nope not anymore. No one comes to my house, lol.

5. Whats in the trunk of your car? Do you even have a clue?

Don't drive and don't have a car.

6. When you go to a family holiday get together (such as Christmas or Thanksgiving), about how many people are there?

I don't go to family holidays get together.

7. What is in your kitchen sink right at this very moment?

Three plates and 3 glasses.

8. You go to a store to buy an expensive item... say $150. You pick up that item and a couple other this n' thats. You get to the register and the expensive item rings up at $40. The cashier doesn't seem to notice and tells you your total. Do you go with what they say and pay it or do you question the price difference? You know you would question it if your $40 item rang up at $150....

Depends on my mood, if I'm having a rotten day then I'll leave it while thinking to myself this is for all the times I have been ripped off!

9. Do you fold your underwear or do you just toss it in a drawer?

Depends on my mood again, lol.

10. There is a Harley-Davidson giveaway. Chances are $100 and they are only selling 250 tickets. Do you buy one?

Nope, can't afford to blow off money like that!

11. Who is your favorite Disney character?

Dory from Nemo and Wall-e.

12. It's September - most of the weekly sitcoms/dramas are starting new seasons again. Which one are you most looking forward to?

Lost, Fringe, House, Heroes, Smallville, Supernatural & Medium.

13. You are at a grocery store and are on your way out to your car with your cart full of grocery bags. On your way to your car you see a black kitten in an empty cart. What do you do?

I would look around to see if it belongs to anyone and would try very hard to keep walking!

14. Is there anything that you do for a hobby that you are asked to do for friends/family that most people would hire a professional to do? (example: cake decorating, fixing cars....)

I don't consider it a hobby and I no one asks me anymore (LOL) but I'm good at putting things together. Could be electronics (setting them up and connecting them with other things) or desks, tables, bookcases etc.

15. Are we there yet?

Mira, no fuƱas/Look, stop bugging me!
