Our Sundays & A Rant.

I'm not a Sunday person and I'm sure there are others like me.  To me it means the weekend is over and we have to go back to reality.  Lately though I have been enjoying Sundays a bit.  We have started our own little tradition without noticing.  Every Sunday while we are having dinner we turn on the TV to watch America's Funniest Videos.  You get to see the silliest things on that show, lol.  The pets doing weird things, attacking each other and being smart.  People playing pranks on each other, those crack me up until my head hurts!  Kids doing something funny, all kinds of stupid stunts that end up with the person getting hurt somehow.  We laugh from the beginning until the end.  The audience gets to pick the three videos that will win a cash price at the end of each episode. Well, most of the time they pick videos that are not even funny. We sit here and yell at the TV "What? That wasn't even funny!". I don't know, maybe the majority of the audience don't know what funny is...

However there are two things I don't like about the show.  Sometimes the host can be crude with his comments.  One example, in the latest episode as part of a game two people have to pick out of three selections which video is real.  One of the selection was a woman playing patty cakes with a beaver.  The host decided to crack a joke about the woman and the beaver.  You all know what he was referring to, the beaver.  I though it was very stupid for him to say that when the show is supposed to be "family show".  The show is already funny why cross the line.

Another thing, sometimes they show videos that I don't feel should be aired.  Call me a prude but in my opinion a baby hanging a snake off of his diaper and sort off humping a door is not funny, a man dancing naked or in his underwear with his penis bouncing all over the place is not funny either.  I don't know why people need to sexualize everything in order to attract a bigger audience.  What about the families who just want to sit and watch TV without having to cling to the remote in order to be ready to mute or switch the channel when something inappropriate comes on.  My kids are over 16 and it still pisses me off.  Yes, I still mute or switch the channel when it comes to certain things.  I imagine I'm not the only one.  So AFV get a clue and remember families do watch your show too! Are You Going To See It?

I wrote a post about Nadya Suleman when the whole mess started last year and have been following her story ever since.  I haven't seen every show she has appeared on though but I saw the show fox did on her.  What can I say I was curious, lol.  Well, tomorrow Wednesday she's going to be a guest on The View and yes I am going to record it.  I want to see what she's going to say and what's going to happen.  If the audience is going to behave.  If she's going to be grilled by The View ladies.  Who else is curious and is going to see the show?  It airs on Wednesday at 11:00AM eastern time...

Jennifer Lopez on The George Lopez Show.

I heard about Jennifer Lopez doing the opening monologue on George Lopez show but I didn't see it until today.  I was reading celebrity gossip and found it on The Huffington Post.  I thought she was funny and so was George Lopez.  I saw her in person during the taping of a show and she was talking to the crowd and wasn't a diva at all.  What do you think was she funny?

I think I'm going to record his show from now on, I like his jokes especially the ones about Latino culture.  They crack me up and bring back memories.  I find myself yelling at the TV "OMG we used to do that too"!♥

First Time!

As some of you know I'm not much of a cook.  I have a few recipes and I rarely try something new.  Yes, I am a Latina who is not good in the kitchen!  The horror, lol.  Well, my daughter loves ribs and she kept asking me to cook some for her.  Finally I gave in and bought some but had been putting it off because I didn't really know how to cook them.  A week ago I decided to look for some ways to cook them and found a recipe that was simple enough for me to try it.  They turned out very good, very tender!  The kids enjoyed them and so did I!  My daughter wasn't even talking she was like we say in Puerto Rico metiendole mano/digging in, lol.  I'm happy to say that this recipe is another addition to my small dinner menu!  Here is the recipe, I followed one of the reviewers tips and added onion powder.  Que rico!♥♥

New Blog Feed!

I use feed burner to do my feed.  Well, not too long I received an email with my email address with a Blog feed only problem it wasn't the feed from my Blog it was from someone else's Blog!  This happened twice.  Yes, I subscribe to my own feed to see what my readers see and check if there is any problems, case in point.  I also check my Blog on 3 different browsers right after I post something to make sure is showing correctly.

Anyway, I thought the person had hacked my email account so I changed the password.  Some of the blogger's posts were even showing on two widgets I had on my Blog.  That was completely weird.  After looking at my feedburner account I just decided to delete both feeds I had and start a new one.  Hopefully this will resolve the problem if not google, feedburner are going to hear from me! Happy Valentine's Day.

First, Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!  Sunny day here, good day for those who go all out on this day.  To us is like any other day, we do say Happy Valentine's day but no presents.  One thing we do though is take advantage of the candies that go on sale after, lol.  I know I'm not the only one!  Hope everyone is having a fabulous day!♥♥

I'm without a computer again because of Microsoft latest update that sent my computer into rebooting over and over.  I already had problems with the PC because it had 2 Trojans that I have been trying to remove so when my PC started rebooting I thought it was something I had done!  So not the case.  I got frustrated and formatted my drive thinking that I would be able to install windows XP fine.  Can't even do that because I keep getting an error message.  I'm not the only one getting the message though, apparently there is a problem with PCI Express (or something like that) that it won't install XP unless is the sp3.  So now I have to go through a whole finding the files, burning them into a CD etc.  Just because Microsoft's freaking update!  Not only that but I lost my files, coƱo!  Right now, I'm using my daughter's computer and she's already asking when I'm going to finish.  Blah.

Just my damn luck... Pin It Now!

That's It?

So glad is Friday!!  This week has been a crazy one with all the snow, the running up and down trying to get everything done before the snow got here.  The weather channel said we were getting a lot of snow and we ended up getting 7 inches or so, blah.  What a disappointment!  I wanted snow like DC got, lol.  Like I say every winter there is always next year.  So not looking forward to summer!  Oh, the HORROR...

I totally forgot this weekend is Valentine's Day.  If it wasn't because of the commercials I wouldn't have remembered.  I rented 2 movies and I didn't have checked the list before they sent them.  I put movies I want to see in the top but I usually change them to get movies for everyone's taste.  We ended up with 500 Days of Summer and Fame.  Then I thought two good movies for this weekend since is Valentine's Day weekend.  My daughter of course is going to love them but my son is not.  I still have GI Joe (we haven't seen it yet) so I guess everyone has something.  What are you doing this weekend?

I have been doing laundry all day.  After I finish with this post I have to get ready to go out with my son.  Have to make a stop at my favorite store, Target and then make a stop at the supermarket.  Talking about supermarkets, don't you hate when you do grocery shopping and you get something small that you end up throwing in the garbage because you are just thinking about the food you need to put away?  I bought a sponge at the beginning of the week and the kids threw it away by mistake, grrrr.  Now I have to buy another one!

Although I want to keep ranting off I can't.  I'll continue my ranting either tonight or tomorrow, lol.  Hope everyone is enjoying their evening...♥♥ Pin It Now!

Oprah's Child Molesters Episode.

I want to thank Oprah for doing this show and for posting it on her site for those of us who didn't have a chance to record it. It is hard to watch especially for those who know someone who has been raped or molested or if the person has been a victim themselves. When I first started watching I have to admit it made me sick but I wanted to see the whole episode because I wanted to know what they had to say about what they did. I was surprised with how graphic they were with the details but I guess if is not to reveal all the details then what would be the point of doing the show.

If you are parent, guardian you should take the time to watch the show. However, if you have been a victim or know someone who has been a victim the show might bring back some memories. Still we live in a world where sex is almost everywhere whether is in one form or another so it is important to know what these people look for when they are looking for a victim. I read some comments where people said why give these men the time of day by putting in them on TV. I sort of felt the same way but after watching the show I feel differently. It's good to know that these people come in every package: young, old, very old. The normal looking guy/woman or the weird looking guy/woman, makes no difference. Anyone can be one of them...

Need To Know What A Movie Is About?

Even though I'm a TV and a movie junkie I never let my children see whatever they wanted.  I still check even though they are a lot older.  I know some people say nah they are going to learn it no matter what.  That may be the case but in my opinion there is an appropriate age for everything.  Most children don't know the difference.  They tend to mimic what they see on TV or movies.

I always remember a friend who's boss had a 10 year old daughter and she would bring her to the job put in a movie for her and then go back to her desk.  Only problem is the movie she would put for her daughter (and her friend, same age) was Austin Power: The Spy Who Shagged Me.  Now out of all the movies out there for children why would this mother choose this movie for a 10 year old?  A movie that is all about sexual innuendo.  Not only for her daughter but for someone else's daughter.  Until this day it bothers me that no one said anything about the movie being inappropriate for a 10 year old.

If you are a parent these sites can help you decide what movies are appropiate for your children/teens.  My favorite is kids-in-mind.com, very detailed about what a movie is about.  Sure it might spoil the movie a bit but you will be able to enjoy the movie if you know ahead of time to prepare for an iffy part if you are watching it with your children/teens.  Don't let the ratings fool you, sometimes the ratings include parts that most of us would never allow our children/teens to see...♥
