I'm very happy we finally have a Target that is a bit closer than the one I have been going to. It's a big one, they even have a Pizza Hut and a Starbucks kiosk with plenty of tables. I immediately thought of my friend New York Chica, she used to love Starbucks! I found everything I needed and more. They had a portion with some delicious pastries, we bought a french baguette, never had one and wanted to try it, lol. Went to Staples also to get notebooks and pens since I use the Staple brand not the name brand. Very spacious but I had to leave right away because Staples is like a candy store for me, lol. I love office supplies! We wanted to go to Best Buy and Marshall's but it was 8 PM and we were tired.
I'm also very happy we finally have a BJ's close by. We got there and shoppers were coming out in bunches from BJ's with shopping carts full to the top with cereal, hot dog buns, french toast, paper towels, laundry detergent, etc. Of course they were big packages, BJ's is going to be making a lot of money with that branch! I plan on going but I don't have a membership yet so that has to be taken care of first.
Two things I didn't like though and I'm hoping it will change as time goes by. There were no places to eat close by except Applebee's and Target. Not everyone can afford to eat at those places, heck I have never been to Applebee's! I'm hoping Mc Donald's, Burger King, Wendy's and Dunkin Donuts will see the potential and will open soon. The other thing was there were a few people trying to spoil everyone's time there by acting like idiots. There was a woman sitting close to the entrance of BJ's talking on her cell phone, she was screaming to the top of her lungs "Bitch you are my fucking babysitter, you do whatever the fuck I tell you!". She continued on and on and she was a security guard from one of the stores! I walked as fast as I could, can't take people like that.
Aside from the few idiots, some unruly children and the fact that we had to wait until we got home to eat dinner we had a great time. We are going again soon to check the other stores. It is close to the Yankee Stadium. You can get there by taking the #4 train. Target is open until 11 PM on Mon-Sat Sun until 10 PM. The other stores are open until 9 or 10 PM.

Oh wow its finally open! I grew up just a few blocks from there and my first apt. was in that area too. Glad to hear its changed and for the better! =)
ReplyDeleteThat mall looks so hi-tech!
ReplyDeleteMs. Latina, I've never been to the area but I am also glad it is changing!
ReplyDeleteJai, it is nice and it gives me a place to go without having to go 2 hours away to do some shopping!
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI live in the area about 5 minute walk. If you get off at 149th and Grand Concourse on the 4,5, or 2 train and walk up the Concourse to 151 you will pass a McDonalds, Burger King, Haagen Daz. At 151 turn right and walk three blocks to the mall. It's actually quicker than going to 161 (Yankee Stadium). There is also a GREAT fish place on 151 and Walton (next to the bodega) called A hole in the Wall...Enjoy the flava!!!
I've Been to this mall more than 5 times ..its Awesome ;) ...
ReplyDeletebut they also need to open a Victoria Secret and Jcp :p Oh and last but not Least (MC.DONALDS) LOL ..
This mall is really cool. It really looks awesome what they are doing with the riverfront area.

Well I guess it is my neighborhood mall. I HATE the fact that you have to pay for parking. I was so proud of the NYers who shopped without parking. The day before Xmas the lot was empty. I park on the street, and walk in the mall when I go. Shop but don't park.
ReplyDeleteYeh, they're right! other than the fact that there are some idiots, the mall is fantastico!
ReplyDeleteYes, there are some idiots that always want to make it hard for other people to enjoy themselves. I haven't been in months so I don't if they added more stores. Have to visit again and post about it.
