Good morning, mi gente! Happy Monday to everyone. I was going through my 3,600 emails (no I'm not that popular, they are mainly newsletters, etc.) and found a newsletter from Commonsense.com where it had an interesting question Should you read your kids’ texts? I thought that's a good question. Personally I'm glad my kids are over 16 and we can't afford cell phones with text. I'm curious as to what other parents think about this.

I said yes, because they are just kids. If I can't read my kids texts, then they don't deserve cell phones. It's my business to keep them safe and to stay safe. We can't do it all but we can try.
ReplyDeleteI would say yes too. Just because they have a cell phone that doesn't mean they can do whatever they want with it. I said to my kids in spanish so they know I'm dead serious! Yo les arranco la cabeza si yo sé que ellos mandaron algo que no deben, lol/I'll tear their head off if I find out they send something they shouldn't. They say Ay Mami!
ReplyDeleteI want to give my oldest liberty since I hated when my Mom did it to me but the Mom in me knows WHY she did it. In the end, the Mom in me won out! Yes I have read the texts and I've also taken the phone away from him for a week because of that. Como yo le digo a mi hijo yo no soy tu amiga yo soy tu madre,. Como madre no me importa si me odias (spelling?) as long as I raise you right!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Ms Latina. They don't have to like it but that's how it is. I'm constantly reminding my daughter about the the crazies out there and to think about them when she shows her picture online. And yes your spelling is right ;-)
