The Health Department has lunched a campaign to help New Yorkers stop smoking. They have a Nicotine Patch and Gum program giveaway that will run from April 22 through May 7. I don't know if you have seen the TV ads about Marie, a woman who smoked for many years and as a result she has suffered numerous amputations. I was shocked when I saw the ad, I had no idea you could suffer amputations from smoking. I don't smoke but I tried it at one point and stopped because my son begged me to stop because he didn't wanted me to get cancer. That was enough for me! Quit smoking, if not for you for your kids and family.♥

What a good idea! Even if just a handful of people quit due to this program, it's something!
