Feliz Cinco De Mayo!

I want to wish a Feliz Día de Cinco de Mayo to those who celebrate it! Through blogging, I have met a few cool bloggers (check out my blog list or my Facebook page to find their blogs) who's husbands are from Mexico or they are Mexican themselves. Have found some delish recipes reading some of their blogs. I am a big fan of Mexican food, although I don't get to eat it often. I'm talking about the authentic stuff. My son and I love chicken quesadillas (my daughter not so much), so since it is Cinco de Mayo I thought today would be a good day to have some for dinner. As a way to celebrate today and all the cool blogueras I have met. Happy Cinco de Mayo, Chicas!

Happy Blogoversary To Me!

Today my blog turns three! Hard to believe I started it three years ago, although I had another blog before this one so I have been blogging for four years. Kind of proud to have been blogging this long. I thought, who is going to want to read about the little that I share about my life. My life is kind of boring for the most part, lol. I almost stopped blogging a few times but I'm glad I didn't.

I have met (not in person) many wonderful (some not so nice) people along the way, some I know from before blogging, when message boards where the it thing. Some I consider what I call online friends. It's a community that keeps getting bigger and bigger as you discover new blogs. I hope to be blogging for three more years if not more. Then again, who knows maybe blogs won't be the it thing in three years from now. We'll see, but for now I'm happy to have my little corner in the world wide web.♥♥

1. What are three things that really annoy you about your "better half"

I don't have a better half right now so I'm going to post things that used to annoy me.

A. His snoring.
B. He was too friendly. Would get into a conversation with almost anyone.
C. Would fall asleep every time we were at the movies.

2. Who was your first crush. Did they ever find out how you felt?

His name was Enrique. I think I was in sixth grade. He was, like we call them in Puerto Rico, a bilingual. He had moved to Puerto Rico from NY. He new I liked him, we exchanged looks a few times, which it was all that was aloud back then, lol. Plus I was very shy, still am. 

3. Tea or Coffee? Coffee.
Lime or Lemon? Lemons.
Mayonnaise or crema? Mayo.
Jack or Cheddar? Cheddar.
Drama or comedy? Drama.

4. Who made the first move in the relationship?

He did. He sent me an instant message online. We talked on the phone for 6 hours until morning.

5. What is a funny quirk you have?

There are a few thing I have to do before going to bed. Turn on the fan, turn on the nature sounds on my phone, put it above my pillow next to my glasses, roll a towel to put under the arch of my back, and put on one ear plug. If I do all of that I can't sleep well.

6. If you could change one physical part of you what would it be?

My belly.

7. Who was the last person you talked to on the phone? English or Spanish?

My daughter. English and Spanish. I talk to her in both languages so I don't forget my Spanish she can keep learning.

8. Do you believe everything happens for a reason?

Yes, I do!

9. Five words that describe your immediate family.

Close, loyal, protective, caring, cautious

1. What is one chore that you hate doing the most?

Doing the dishes! There is nothing more tedious than that. At least to me.

2. When was the first time you had alcohol?

It was 16 years ago, I went on a blind date but I took my sister with me. We met at bar/restaurant.

3.What is one of the most embarrassing things that has ever happened to you?

Getting booed at school (Puerto Rico) as soon as I went through the gates because of how I was dressed. I was wearing a pair hot pink socks, black boots and high water pants. I had taken a trip here (NY) and that was the latest trend here. I had the last laugh though. A week later all the bitches were dressing like me, lol.

4.If you could choose how would you want to die?

Painless, but I hope I get to say my goodbyes first.

5. Would you rather see a movie at home or in the theater?

At home. I don't have to deal with other people talking.

6. Two of your favorite musical artists and why?

I would have to say Sarah McLachlan and Adele. They both have gotten me through some tough times. 

7. Have you ever been to a karaoke bar and participated?

Nope. Never been to one, but I bet it is fun!

8. Are you a people pleaser?

Yep. Reason why so many people took advantage of me. Learned my lesson though, you can say I still am but not as bad.

9. In high school what group were you apart of?

I was part of small group. Not part of the bad kids group or the popular ones. Just a group of seven or eight regular kids.

10. One thing you remember doing that upset your parents?

Our refrigerator was old, the ones that you had to pull on the handle to open. One day I went to open it and the handle broke. They were upset, but can't remember what happened after though. If they fixed it somehow or bought a new one.

11. First Hangover?

Q.2 That was the last time I had alcohol. Had two Long Island Ice Tea and by the time I got home I was vomiting all over the bathroom floor. Glad I took my sister with me that day!

Slightly New Blog Look.

As you can see I changed the look of my blog a bit. I'm still making changes here and there but for now and I sort of like the way it looks. I want to change the template all together but Blogger has limited options. I tried using a customized template but I lost some of the plugins so I changed it back. I freaked out, thank God I backed it up before I made the changes. What do you guys think? Is it too dark, font is too small, it loads too slow? Any feedback would be appreciated. 

I haven't been blogging that much lately. Been feeling a bit blah, sin ganas de hacer nada. I hope the new blog look will change that and I will get my mojo back. It's like having a new toy. All new and pretty!

So we finally got some snow! Not a lot as you can see in the picture. It was all over the news, they were making a big deal as usual. You would think we were going to get a blizzard, lol. I kept looking out the window and nothing. Finally, around 4am it started snowing. That picture was taken around 7:30am. I thought we weren't going to get any snow this winter. It's been a weird one that's for sure. I hope it means this summer is not going to be extremely hot. Summer, ugh. Don't want to even think about it! Yes, totally stressing about it.

Long Time No See!

Sorry I haven't been around lately. I was sick with the flu and it wasn't pretty. First it was my daughter then my son and just when I thought I was safe, I got sick. Since I'm vieja/old I got it worse and it took me longer to get better. I'm getting back to my routine though. My kitchen estaba que daba miedo/was frightening, lol. So I had to take care of that first. One good thing was I didn't have to cook everyday. It was refreshing not to have think about dinner and cook it for 3 days! 

While I was sick I emptied half of my DVR. My DVR was full because I haven't been watching that much TV lately. I even deleted last year's Desperate Housewives season and haven't been watching the new season. I'll watch it on Netflix. Same thing with Brothers & Sisters. I gave up in some shows and picked up a few. That will be another post. I am happy to say my DVR has some recording space and I'm up to date with almost all the shows I watch. I also watched a few good movies streaming in Netflix. Some of you are probably saying, good movies streaming in Netflix? Yes, they do have them. You just have to keep up with what they add. Two good sites to check for what's new in streaming, what's expiring and what's coming: Instantwatcher and Feedfliks. For instance, I didn't know Insidious started streaming today. Just found out through instantwatcher. Was dying to see that movie! My daughter said it is scary. We'll see... 

Anyway, I have to get into the blogging mood again. Had a few posts in my mind but today I can't seem to remember anything of them. Have been distracted by Twitter, Facebook and Google+. Reading on everything I have missed. I have to catch up with the blogs I follow, etc. I'll get into the swing of things soon...

Alternate Views For My Blog.

For those who have problems reading my blog because of the background color, the layout, slow Internet, etc. You now have other ways to view my blog! They are called Dynamic views from Blogger. If you look on the sidebar right on top you will see Alternate Blog Views. Click on the link of the style you want to view it in. Want to see an example? Click on the photo on this post to see the sidebar style and how you can change it to another style.

This has been available for some time but I never knew how easy it was to use it until I read Blogger Plugin's Blog. Great plugins! Keep in mind the Dynamic Views will only work with modern browsers like Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer. Follow the links to update your browsers. For mobile devices as of now it only works with a few of them.

Would like to know what you guys think.

First Post From Cell.

Never tried this, posting from my cell phone. Let's see if I like it. Have to get used to the virtual keyboard though. I keep typing the wrong letters, lol. So if there is a typo let me know!


I should be sleeping but here I am. I'm not sleepy, took a nap after dinner. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day, an appointment and errands. Hopefully everything will go smoothly. I just want a day free of drama, attitude and bitches...


Update: I like that I can post from my cell but if I use images they are going to show on the wrong spot so I would have to use the computer to fix it anyway. Don't know if I will use it often but wanted to try it out. Meh, it's ok.

Sorry, I haven't blogged in a long time. Been busy with life lately. Plus I was sick with the flu for over a week. Then it was my son's turn. Thank God my daughter managed not to get sick! Now we both are in the coughing stage. Annoying when you are trying to sleep and you start coughing to the point that you head feels like is going to fall off...

Have been trying to get in the blogging mode again but it hasn't been easy. I sit here trying to come up with something and my mind starts to wonder to something else. Hopefully I will get my mojo back even if it is little by little. I have a lot of catching up to do! With the blogs I follow and emails.

Anyway, hope everyone is having a a good day. I'm so enjoying the chilly temperatures. Not ready for warmer weather yet!

So happy the weekend is here! I'm not doing anything special. Just the usual, clean, cook and watch a movie later. If not come online to read some blogs and news. Anyway, this week's PhotoHunt is Letters. I didn't think I was going to have a picture for this theme but turned out I had a few. This is the Queens Place in Queens, NY. Very close to the Queens Center Mall. I love going there. It is close to every store you can think of with many places to eat. Including my favorite place Cinnabon, yum!

Fall is Here!

I'm so glad fall is finally here! Who's ready to wear sweaters, scarfs and all the comfy clothes? I know I am! Right now my apartment is cool, I'm enjoying it. I'm about to make oatmeal after I finish with this post. With lots of canela/cinnamon. Que rico! 

I have to go run errands today. Have to do grocery shopping, crossing my fingers they have a good sale going on. I also have to go to the library to do a print out. Not because I want to because I have to walk a lot to get there. Worse is up a hill. But my printer ran out of ink and I don't want to buy a $25 cartridge just to print out a paper.

As you can see I changed the header. I can't decide on the background yet. It still a work in progress. I have to change a few things. I hope everyone likes it, then again it is very hard to please everyone. Different people, different taste. I try though, because without readers there is no point on having a blog right? 

Bueno, to cook oatmeal I go. I'm hungry and I have to do some things before heading out. Hope everyone is enjoying their day so far!♥♥
