My son makes me laugh a lot with the things he says or does. When my cable was fixed not too long ago I had to check that all channels were working. Of course I did this after the tech had left. My son was sitting next to me when I tuned in into a Spanish channel, can't remember which one. There were airing a novela (Soap Opera) at the time. I was curious so I left it there for a bit, then my son says out of the blue, that's how you act. I burst out laughing saying what do you mean? He said that's how you act sometimes. I said to him mentiroso (liar) while laughing so hard I could barely talk. What he meant was that women can be overly dramatic sometimes, especially if we know we are right! I recorded the part, thanks to my DVR because I wanted to share it. Now, I'm in no way bashing women or Latinas here. Want to make that clear, just thought it was funny...

So glad it is Wednesday, that is chilly outside and that I will be getting a haircut either today or tomorrow! Doing grocery shopping a bit later. Hopefully I won't have go back until next week. Now to think about what to make for dinner...

When you have to visit a public bathroom, you usually find a line of women, so you smile politely and take your place.    Once it's your turn, you check for feet under the stall doors. Every stall is occupied. Finally, a door opens and you dash in, nearly knocking down the woman leaving the stall.  You get in to find the door won't latch.. It doesn't matter, the wait has been so long you are about to wet your pants!  The dispenser for the modern "seat covers" (invented by someone's Mom, no doubt) is handy, but empty. You would hang your purse on the door hook, if there was one, but there isn't - so you carefully, but quickly drape it around your neck, ( Mom would turn over in her grave if you  put it on the FLOOR! ), yank down your pants, and assume " The Stance."  In this position your aging, toneless(God I should have gone to the gym!!!) thigh muscles begin to shake..  You'd love to sit down, but you certainly hadn't taken time to wipe the seat or lay toilet paper on it, so you hold  "The Stance".  To take your mind off your trembling thighs, you reach for what you discover to be the empty toilet paper dispenser. In your mind, you can hear your mother's voice saying, "Honey, if you had tried to clean the seat, you would have KNOWN there was no toilet paper!"  Your thighs shake more... You remember the tiny tissue that you blew your nose on yesterday. -the one that's still in your purse.  (Oh yeah, the purse around your neck, that now, you have to hold up trying not to strangle yourself at the same time). That will have to do.  You crumple it in the puffiest way possible. It's still smaller than your thumbnail.  Someone pushes your door open because the latch doesn't work.  The door hits your purse, which is hanging around your neck in front of your chest, and  you and your purse topple backward against the tank of the toilet.    "Occupied!"  you scream, as you reach for the door, dropping your precious, tiny, crumpled tissue in a puddle on the floor, lose your footing altogether, and slide down directly onto the  TOILET SEAT.  It is wet of course.  You bolt up, knowing all too well that it's too late. Your bare bottom has made contact with every imaginable germ and life form on the uncovered seat because YOU never laid down toilet paper - not that there was any, even if you had taken time to try.  You know that your mother would be utterly appalled if she knew, because, you're certain her bare bottom never touched a public toilet seat because, frankly, dear, "You just don't  KNOW what kind of diseases you could get". By this time, the automatic sensor on the back of the toilet is so  confused that it flushes, propelling a stream of water like a fire hose against the inside of the bowl that sprays a fine mist of water that covers your butt and runs down your legs and into your shoes.  The flush somehow sucks everything down with such force that you grab onto the empty toilet paper dispenser for fear of being dragged in too. At this point, you give up. You're soaked by the spewing water and the wet toilet seat. You're  e-x-h-a-u-s-t-e-d. You try to wipe with a gum wrapper you found in your pocket and then slink out inconspicuously to the sinks.   You can't figure out how to operate the faucets with the  automatic sensors,...so you wipe your hands with spit and a dry paper towel and walk past the line of women still waiting. You are no longer able to smile politely to them. A kind soul at the very end of the line points out a piece of toilet paper trailing from your shoe.  (Where  was that when you NEEDED it??) You yank the paper from your shoe, plunk it in the woman's hand and tell her warmly, "Here, you just might need this".. As you exit, you spot your hubby, who has long since entered, used, and left the men's restroom..  Annoyed, he asks, "What took you so long, and why is your purse hanging around your neck?" ... This is dedicated to women everywhere who deal with a public restrooms (rest??? you've GOT to be kidding!!). It finally explains to the men what really does take us so long. It also answers their other commonly asked questions about why women go to the restroom in pairs.  It's so the other gal can hold the door, hang onto your purse, and hand you Kleenex under the door! I got this in an email. It was too funny not share. I'm sure you have been through that once or twice, lol. ♥♥

Happy April Fools Day to everyone! I normally don't remember this day but I noticed it last night when I changed the month on the calendar. I might play a prank on the kids, lol. Not sure yet. Do you play pranks on your familia or friends? Do they play pranks on you? 

I'm being careful with what I read on Twitter and in the news today! Can't believe everything you see or hear. It's a Friday, pranksters are going to have a good time. 

So happy Friday is finally here. Although I left my grocery shopping and errands for today so I'm going to be doing some running around, hopefully it won't be raining by then. Dinner will be simple for tonight that's for sure. Then to watch the movie Salt with the kids. Hope is a good one! We have been using Netflix a lot lately. Catching up with movies I never got to see when I was young, lol. I saw Jaws with my son not too long ago. Screamed in some parts that I didn't remember. Hard to believe it was made in 1975! We have the rest of the Jaws movies in queue, I want to see them all! To refresh my memory and so the kids can enjoy them too...

It's a chilly Sunday in NY although I can't tell from inside my apartment. I opened the window a bit so some cold air can come in because is too warm in here. Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday. I'm enjoying mine so far. Happy I prepared half of today's dinner last night. Today, dinner will be done quickly! Yay for me...

A WTF Dream & Sunday Funnies.

This morning I woke up with a headache. I think I either had a headache because of the way my head was or because of the dream I had. My dream, I was sitting somewhere reading a book and Jennifer Lopez came up to me and shot me in the head! Yes, you read that right. She shot me in the head while standing in front of me. For some reason I was still alive and I wasn't bleeding much. I could feel pain and I was trying to find the hole but I couldn't. I looked at her and she looked like she was in a trance or something so I pulled her towards me and hugged her telling her it's ok, lol. WTF? 

The police came and they were looking for the bullet hole in the wall to find the bullet to match to her gun, lol. They find the bullet and is a bullet they had never seen before. The dream turned into a scene from V. Where I was impregnated with a child but the child was an alien! I remember thinking so this is why she shot me. I was in going into labor and the pain was horrible! I was in some sort a spaceship hospital giving birth screaming like something my tearing up my insides. Then I woke up. Had a headache and a WTF look on my face, lol. Seriously the shit that goes on on our subconscious mind. The last thing I did last night was watch TV, was watching House Hunters. Totally not related, lol. One thing I'm glad of, my headache went away. If not I would be cursing Jennifer Lopez right now, lol.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday. Me, I'm listening to Journey's Don't Stop Believing on AOL's radio Awesome 80's even though I hate using it because they have too much commercials. Pandora is winning me over little by little. I'm having Me time for a little bit while my son takes a shower and daughter is out visiting a friend. Trying to enjoy my Sunday as much as I can because I'm not feeling well. Wishing today was Friday instead of Sunday, bleh.

Hello mi gente. How is your Sunday going? Mine has been blah so far. Have been feeling sleepy/tired all day, hate feeling like that. Not happy the weekend is over either! Tomorrow is the start of the stress all over again, bleh. 

After dinner I'm going to "try" to stay awake to watch Robin Hood with Russell Crowe. Heard it was a good movie, then again what movie with Russell Crowe is not good? The man can act and pick great roles to play. Plus he so damn HOT! Ok, now I'm starting to feel a bit less blah.

Dinner cooking time is going to be short because the meat is already prepared, yay! What's for dinner? Arroz blanco/white Rice with bistec empanizado/breaded steak and habichuelas negras/black beans. Just thinking about it makes hungry. Have to start cooking after this post!

Hello! Sorry I am late posting my Sunday Funnies. Then again it is early for some of my readers. I have been busy today, then I took a nap that turned into a 3 hour nap. Woke up feeling the whole day passed by. Not a good feeling but oh well. Tomorrow is another day right?

Have to do laundry later, have tons to wash. Have a busy day tomorrow so I have to wear comfy clothes. So glad is going to be chilly out although I just noticed is going to rain. Noooo! Wasn't counting on that, ugh. Going to be hard to carry an umbrella and a cane at the same time plus deal with my back pain. Damn just to think about it makes me not want to go but I have to. Wish me luck...

Happy Halloween to everyone! So jealous of all of you who get to wear a costume and have some fun. I miss it doing that. We are staying in, rented Drag Me to Hell to watch later. Plus we have Pandorum to stream from Netflix. Two spooky movies to enjoy our Halloween. Don't know what I'm making for dinner yet. If it was up to me I wouldn't cook but can't do that. Must cook dinner. What about you? What are you doing tomorrow? Cooking anything special, going to a party or staying in like us? Whatever you do stay safe!

Can't believe October is already gone, it flew by. This whole year has gone by so fast. Two more months and we will be in 2011. Scary, if you listen to all the crap people have been saying about 2012. I don't believe in that. Well, not yet anyway. LOL I am looking forward to the Christmas spirit. Those chilly mornings where one sits and enjoys a hot cup of coffee to warm our bones and our spirit. Yes, my spirit needs warming I don't know about yours!

Happy Sunday mi gente! Woke up sweating, WTF? Yes, the heat was/is on even though outside is not even cold. Wanted to keep sleeping but couldn't. Right now I have three windows open and the fan on. When the hell Fall is going to get here? I keep waiting for the 50's - 40's temperature but nothing. Mother nature is messing with us! I wonder how this winter going to be. Last year we didn't get much snow. What is winter without snow damn it! I want some good snow falling this year. Who's with me?

Me: What do you want for dinner? 
Him: What do we have?
Me: I tell him what we have.
Him: Alfredo fettuccine?

Me: Ok. How do you want the chicken? (I cook it two different ways).
Him: Whichever is easier.
Me: I smile while thinking he's so understanding when it comes to dinner. Now, if only all men were that way...

So glad is a three day weekend because come Tuesday I have to go somewhere and scream the shit out them! Not looking forward to that I tell you. I don't like having to go somewhere to yell because some people are assholes and refuse to do their job. I mean, you get there taking deep breaths before you get to talk to someone. Finally you talk to someone and all you get is attitude from these bitches. That's when I get fed up and let the Latina out of the cage! WTF! Keep me in your prayers that everything goes smooth and I get to resolve my problem without having to let the Latina out of the cage...

Ok, I feel a bit better after my vent/rant. I'm here fighting to stay awake. Tweeting away and writing this post at the same time. Listening to music on AOL radio, Express Yourself from Madonna just came on. Nothing like Madonna to wake one up! I should be in the kitchen but want to post my Sunday funnies before because I don't usually get on the computer after dinner. I watch TV con mis hijos/my children or I fall asleep for an hour or two.

It's a beautiful day in New York. Very sunny with a the perfect temperature of mid 60's. Makes me wish I had the energy and the money to go to the city and enjoy this gorgeous day! Instead I'm here listening to music, writing this post while enjoying the pictures NYCityMama has been tweeting all day...

I can't believe is already the end September! This month flew by. Christmas is around the corner and just like that we will be in 2011! Soon people are going to start ranting more about how the world is going to end in 2012 and how we must prepare. What do you think? Are you going to start stocking up on food etc or you think everything is just crazy people talk?

I said I wasn't going to post anymore for today but had to post my Sunday Funnies and wanted to share a creepy crawler I found two days ago crawling up the wall behind my monitor. Scared the shit out of me, lol. It was in early in the morning as in 4AM. Not something you want to find at that time of night! I killed it right away because I didn't wanted that thing crawling up my leg, eww. Sorry creepy crawlers loving people.

Happy Labor Day, mi gente! I'm not doing anything special. I will be doing laundry later, lol. Same thing as usual. We have a movie Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief so we are going to watch it after dinner. I already have the meat seasoned from yesterday. Dinner will ready in less than 30 minutes today! Our dinner; Arroz blanco, bistec encebollado, maduros y aguacate/White rice, bistec with onions, yellow plantains and avocado. I can just taste it, que rico! Hope everyone is enjoying their day.
