Dusting off my blog, cough, cough. It feels like it was a month ago the last time I posted, but it has been a week and three days only. I was busy with life last week, going to appointments and running errands.

One of the appointments was a waste of time and money. They made me wait so long, I ended up rescheduling the appointment. It's not fun having to wait almost two hours after drinking four cups of water. I realize I could have drank four more cups of water, but I knew the same thing was going to happen again because there were about 15 people waiting. I was not happy having to reschedule as I wanted to get it over with.

I'm adding another meme to my list. I've seen it at Confessions of a Psychotic Housewife for some time, so I thought I would join the fun. If you would like to participate click on the image.

This past weekend was a semi quiet one, thank God! Don't know if the landlord had something to do with it or the asshole decided to take a break from being an ass. We will find out next week.

Friday night I made beef stew to eat during the weekend. I was so happy I had a break from having to cook a full meal for two days! Tonight is Alfredo chicken fettuccini, yum! One of our favorites. I'll share the recipe soon.  

If you are a fan of The Walking Dead, you probably know Netflix added the second season to streaming. I have been dying to see it, but put it off because I was waiting for my daughter to watch it together. Last night, she decided she was going to watch it on her computer. I was not happy! I will watch it by myself later today. Next time, I won't bother.

If you live in NY, and you have the same cable service as me you will know that the CW channel was taken off  air since August. I didn't find that out until recently when I went to set up my dvr to record Supernatural and 90210. I'm so pissed! The cable company didn't bother to send out emails or put an announcement on their site about it. They put an announcement on the channel, I never saw it. They don't bother to update customers if they are trying to work on some type of agreement to bring it back. Yet they charge customers to be able to see the channel. No credit will be given either. Greedy bastards! 

I had to sign up for Hulu Plus to be able to watch the CW shows on TV. Thank God for my son's PS3. I know I can watch it on CWTV.com, but they give so much commercials is like watching regular TV. My computer reboots when I'm watching videos or movies, so I don't have time to wait for the damn commercials. I wonder if Hulu has seen an increase of subscribers because of this.

Tomorrow I'm going to order a new power supply after waiting for so long! So excited about that. Hopefully I won't have any problems with the installation and it will boot up without a problem. I'm crossing my fingers that this will take care of my computer rebooting and freezing problems. If not, it's time to replace the motherboard and get a new case. Something I can't do right now because we are on a tight budget. Wish me luck!

If it wasn't for the internet I wouldn't have been able to take care of my computer problems. I can find how to videos, reviews and ask for help on forums. Thanks to all the people who take the time to post to help out a newbie!

He's So Hot!

Sharing this video, it gave me a good laugh. Ellen Degeneres had Liam Neeson strip to his undies in support of Breast Cancer Research. One of the audience member was selected to participate. She was so excited, lol. Very nice of him to do this. I wish that I had seen the whole episode. I am a fan of Liam Neeson. I find him to be so HOT and such a great actor. One of his movies, The Grey is streaming on Netflix. Great movie... Enjoy!♥

Late Friday Fill-Ins.

I meant to post this earlier, but was busy with other things. Daughter is out tonight so it is just my son, our cat and me. Enjoying a quiet night so far. Let's hope it stays that way. 

I'm excited tonight is the last season premiere of Fringe! It just started, but my son is using the TV, so I'll watch it a bit later. I'm staying away from spoilers! I'm so going to miss this show. Who else is watching?

Psy - Gangnam Style Music Video

Sharing this music video for those who like me until a few days ago didn't know about one of the latest YouTube most watched videos. It broke the Guinness record for the most liked video on YouTube. Psy is a South Korean pop singer, who sings about the now worldwide famous Gangnam dancing style. Although I can't understand most of what he's singing about, the video is entertaining and catchy.

Everyone wants to meet him. Ellen invited him to the show so he could teach Britney Spears the dance moves. Even TMZ had him on the show. My favorite, his performance at Rockefeller Plaza for NBC's Today Show. It is awesome to see everyone welcoming Psy, enjoying his music even though most didn't understand the words. Like the host said, Rockefeller Plaza will never be the same. Music has no boundaries. Check it out!

Time For Revolution!

Never thought I would say this, but I'm glad is a Monday. One because I finally get some peace and two because today is the premiere of Revolution at 10PM on NBC! I set up my DVR because I don't want to miss anything and I want to be able to forward the commercials. I don't know about you, but waiting for commercials kills my excitement. I hope it turns out be a good show. NBC has been advertising it a lot, so I hope they will give it a chance and not cancel it without giving it a second season. I posted the fall premiere calendar, if you would like to check it out click here. On Saturday we went out to run some errands and to walk around a bit. I took this picture. The sky looked beautiful! I enjoyed half of my day, once I got home it all went down hill...

Time To Set Up That DVR!

I'm setting my DVR for the first time in months to record a bonus episode of Touch tonight at 8PM. The season premiere it's still October 26 at 8PM. I am ready for some Jack, I mean Martin! He, he.

I'm also recording the season premiere of What Would You Do?. Hard to believe this is season six already! My son and I, we both enjoy watching this show. Seeing how people react to some strange and uncomfortable scenarios. You know, John Quiñones is a guy I would love to meet in person. He seems like he is down to earth type of guy.

Well, I wish everyone a good and happy weekend! It's going to be cool one here in NY. I'm sooo looking forward to that!♥♥

Memories: Sept. 11 10th Anniversary.

Today is the 10Th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. I wasn't sure I wanted to write a post about it because just last night I had a nightmare (reason why I posted it so late), but here I am. First, my prayers and blessings to the families and friends of those lost on this day 10 years ago. 

It's hard to believe 10 years have passed. Feels like it wasn't too long ago that I was riding the bus after dropping the kids at school. I was going through a rough time then so I was feeling depressed (that's another story). I turned on the radio on my phone to listen to some music. As I was thinking about the apartment I was going to see I heard about the first plane. I thought, wait did I hear right? I wish I could have pressed rewind at that moment. At first, I thought it was a prank or an accident. Then I heard them say a second plane just hit the second tower. I kept looking around the bus to see if everyone else heard the same thing because I still didn't believe it. Everyone looked normal.

After the bus, I took the train to get to Roosevelt Avenue and there from the platform I could see the Twin Towers filled with smoke. My mind was racing trying to think about every possible explanation. I kept trying to call my kid's school but the cell phones weren't working. When I looked up again there was only one tower standing. At this point I still wasn't sure what had happened so I kept trying to call my kid's school but couldn't get through. While I'm trying to look for change for the pay phone I glanced over and the second tower was gone. I could hear people gasping and crying. Me, I was stunned for a moment. I couldn't think. I thought, what is happening? Then I see everyone else going down the stairs when I heard the announcement that there were no trains running. I started panicking thinking how am I going to get to the kids. I kept calling the school from a pay phone but nothing. I finally got through to my ex (we were together at the time) when he tells me that we were attacked. I said to him what do you mean? He tells me again, I started crying. I could feel my heart beating really fast, feeling like someone just dropped a bucket of cold water on me. I told him I have to get the kids, I don't know how but I'll get there. He was further away so he couldn't get to them. 

Everyone was leaving the train station so I followed them. We ended up in Northern Boulevard, trying catch a bus from there but the buses that kept passing by were full. People were trying to call their families to pick them up. I didn't have anyone to call so I keep trying to catch a bus but none of them were stopping. People started talking to each other trying to keep calm, asking where they were headed to see if they could get a ride. A lady started talking to me, she told me that her son was going to pick her up that she could drop me off at the nearest bus stop. I said to her, Ay, Gracias! Que Dios se lo pague/Oh, thank you! May God bless you! Every time I think about it I wish we would've asked each others name, would've liked to stay in touch. If it wasn't for her God knows how much more I would've had to wait to get to my kids. From the time we got there to the time we left it was almost 4 hours. 

I finally got to the school, I literally ran to them to hug them. I kept asking them if they were ok. At the time they were 11 and 8 years old so they didn't really understand the magnitude of what was going on. I told them I was trying to call the school and that's when they told me someone had called in a bomb threat. On a day like that why would someone be so cruel, and call a bomb threat to a school, is beyond me. We took the bus home, and as soon as I opened the door I ran to turn to the TV. I remember vividly seeing the first images, I was sobbing. Finding out that they not only attacked New York, but also Virginia. The third attack prevented by the heroes of flight 93. God bless them for giving their lives for us. 

All that time I thought that the people inside the buildings had had enough time to get out. When it was clear most of them didn't, I felt angry and helpless at the same time. As silly as it may sound (I'm sure I wasn't the only one), I wanted to help somehow. Go down there to help with the digging, serving food, anything. Of course that didn't happened for me, but I am glad so many people did help in one way or another.  

For the next couple of days, weeks I was glued to the TV. My problems were secondary at that point. All I could think about were the people under the rubble waiting to be rescued. I wanted to know every little bit of new information. That, for some reason gave me some comfort (until this day I don't know why) even though when I went to sleep I would have nightmares. 

I remember people being nice to each other after that day. Asking how are you doing today? Saying hello and good morning. Something that not many people used to say, and still don't. I remember feeling so proud of being an American. Thinking we are now at war, our soldiers will find them. We will show them how strong United States can be. Our way of living may have changed, but we are as strong as ever. We Will Never Forget...

TV Time - Fall TV Season Premiere Calendar!

Here is the calendar for the fall TV season premieres. Who's ready? I am, but in a way I'm not. I barely turned on the TV this summer to see regular TV. There was nothing on that I liked, and I enjoyed not having to worry about setting the DVR every week and making sure it had enough space to keep recording. I did see the president's speech during the Democratic National Convention, and a few Nightline episodes here and there.

My form of entertainment has been Netflix (streaming). I have been catching up with TV series that I can't watch on regular TV because I don't have the channels anymore. I lowered my cable package two years ago. The bill was getting ridiculously expensive. Now, I just have the network channels.

I finished Kyle XY. This series was canceled a few years ago, and they didn't give it a proper ending. It was disappointing. Then it was Merlin, a series that was canceled by NBC or ABC, but Syfy picked it up. I was happy when Netflix started streaming the first three seasons. I got so used to watching it every night that now I miss it, lol. Can't wait for season four! Hopefully, Netflix won't make us wait two years for it.

I'm also caught up with Weeds! Being able to see all six seasons non stop without commercials was heavenly. It was like being at the movie theater every day for hours, lol. It was canceled, so season eight will be the last. I'm going to avoid spoilers like the plague!

These days I have been catching up with Warehouse 13. I almost forgot, another show I like from Syfy is Alphas, but again, I have to wait until it streams on Netflix. I'm starting to miss not having this channel more and more, but there is no way in hell, I'm going to pay $40 more to add three or four channels that I like. Well, if they offered me a good deal, I would pay a bit ($10) more.

Anyway, back to the calendar. There are few new TV shows I'm adding to my list, but the one I'm really looking forward to is Revolution, from NBC. It premieres on September 17 at 10:00PM. I know that I can see the pilot episode online, but I prefer to see it on TV to enjoy it in all its glory. I couldn't resist, so I watched the first four minutes, and it looks just like my type of show! If you rather not wait, you can see it on Hulu here.

As for the returning shows I can't wait to see all over again; Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, Fringe, Touch, Revenge and The Good Wife! Then there is The Walking Dead that I would love to see when it starts its third season, but I can't afford to add the freaking channel don't have the channel. I read a comment about season two and it turned out to be a spoiler. I'm so pissed about that!

Do You Believe in Aliens?

I'm not ashamed to say that I do! The universe it too big for us to be the only planet that supports life. I have been in an Alieny and Scifi mood lately. Watching Ancient Aliens on Netflix got me obsessed about Aliens and such. Did you know it has been 65 years since the Roswell incident? Of course in Ancient Aliens they have an entire episode dedicated to this. I don't get tired of hearing the story. Finally Gave In!

Last night I was watching Netflix with my son, we were watching Ancient Aliens. I was searching for something to watch with him but Netfllix doesn't have much that he likes these days. Finally, I decide on Ancient Aliens. At first he didn't wanted to watch it, but then he stopped complaining. After an hour or so he fell asleep and so did I. Not that the show sucks, it's very interesting. I wanted to keep watching it when I woke up, but I want to save it to keep watching with my son. I started watching Drop Dead Diva, I love this show! Too bad I don't have the channel, but for now I still have two and half seasons to watch. I thought it was canceled, but I checked online and it doesn't say that it was!

After, I started looking through the movies to add to my queue but most of the movies are old and I don't always want to watch TV shows. So I went online to check what new movies are out on DVD. Turns out, I'm missing so many good movies I decided to rent again. Even if it is for this month. I couldn't help it! For tomorrow we are getting The Darkest Hour and Chronicle. There is a short wait on Chronicle so if we don't get that one we'll get John Carter. I'm obsessed with Sci-fi these days. From zombies, to demons, to aliens! Anyone else decided to rent now that summer is here? 

While I was adding movies to my queue I noticed the picture below, lol. Someone didn't read the tittle well. They put the wrong cover for the movie Batman Forever. I checked and it is still there. Netflix Fail!

If You Still Care - Summer TV Calendar

After all the cancellations (seven or eight in total!) of TV shows I was watching. I'm not sure if I even want to pick up more shows. We take the time to watch it, record it, tweet it, check it in getglue and we even post about it in our blogs. And for what? In the end, we (the fans) are the last ones the networks think about when they decide to cancel a show. Yes, I'm one of those!

Personally, if I was an actor this would piss me off. Networks should be forced to give a show at least two seasons before talking about cancellation. All the hard work they (actors and crew) put in, moving to other cities (sometimes with their families in tow), waking up early and going to bed late for months. Ridiculous!

I have stopped watching some shows because of this, but that's another post. In case you are still interested in adding more shows to your list or finding out when the old ones you watch are coming back, here is the summer TV calendar. I only have the basic channels, so for summer there is not much that is worth watching. More stupid so call (even though they are not) reality shows, they keep popping up everywhere. Meanwhile the good shows get canceled.

Nickelodeon's New Series - The Legend of Korra!

If you are a fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender (my kids love Avatar, I used to watch it with them) then you will probably enjoy Nickelodeon's new series, The Legend of Korra. A spin-off of Avatar: The Last Airbender. I just saw the first two episodes and I am a FAN! I know I'm super old to be watching these shows, but what can I say, I love it! Unfortunately, we don't subscribe to Nickelodeon's channel right now so we can't see the rest. I'm hoping they will keep streaming the episodes online but I doubt it.

Stay at Home Mom.

Some days are really hard being a stay at home. Being a mom was always my dream and the day I had my son really was the best day of my life, it is the best life but it is also hard sometimes. I wouldn't trade my life as a mom for the world, but sometimes between peanut butter sandwiches and changing diapers I get totally stressed and feel like I just need a break. That is when I turn on a show on cable tv and take a thirty minute breather in my room. I usually read a few chapters in my book or rest for a little bit. It was a good day when my son was finally old enough to watch a whole show and actually want to. I may regret it later because my kid will be obsessed with TV, but it is worth it now for me to not lose my cool! Moms need a time out every now and then. I am so ready for summer so he will be playing outside!

JoAnna Garcia Swisher’s star is rising. Landing the top role in an upcoming comedy pilot, the actress will lead a primetime show once again.

The Florida-born Latina got her first big break in high school when she was cast on Nickelodeon’s “Are You Afraid of the Dark?” Ever since then, she has starred in hit shows, such as “Reba,” “Privileged” and “Gossip Girl.” But it was playing Mia Putney, the lead in the hit comedy “Better With You,” that secured her place as a young comedic actress to watch.

If the 32-year-old’s work accomplishments impress, then her off-camera efforts inspire. Last June, Garcia Swisher teamed up with Merck to launch the Let’s Go There campaign, an initiative to encourage women to talk to their doctors about birth control options. “As the daughter of an OB/GYN, I learned from an early age the importance of educating myself to better understand my health options,” said Garcia Swisher last summer.

To top it off, last Thanksgiving, Garcia Swisher and her husband -- New York Yankees outfielder Nick Swisher -- finally took their overdue honeymoon (they married in December 2010) to Afghanistan. But this wasn’t just an adventurous trip to a rugged country. They were there to cheer on the troops. “I think we had about eight different Thanksgiving meals,” said Garcia Swisher afterward. “We’ve made friends for a lifetime.”

Going Nuts!

I am so fed up with my satellite TV (wish I had stuck with my digital cable service provider). A few months ago they changed over to some sort of new system that is messing up my life. For some reason the picture keeps on scrambling and I can't get anything on demand. I am so annoyed because every time I call they tell me it's only temporary while they switch over, but they don't offer to credit my account for the days I've been without service. 

It just doesn't make any sense to me. Why would I pay for something that I'm not getting? I've asked the customer service representatives this question and they can't seem to answer. I feel bad for them because I know it's not their fault, but it doesn't excuse their terrible service. I think it's finally time that I change my service, because this is driving me crazy! I just want to come home after a long day of work, eat dinner, watch some TV, and go to bed. Due to their terrible service, I can't do this, but I'm still paying. Hopefully they'll get the point after I cancel my account.

Damn Documentaries!

It's 6 AM am, I was able to sleep for 4 hours only. Had no other choice but to get up. Why? Simple, I'm spooked! I watched a documentary on NetFlix last night called Mysteries Of Angels and Demons. Now, all I can think is the interviews of the people on the show. The things that happened to them, lol. I mean it was a poorly made documentary but still it got to me. Not to mention that the night before I watched Eyes of The Mothman which was pretty bad. Still, it got to me a little.

I was sleeping fine with my fan on and my nature sounds playing on my cell phone next to me. Then a noise wakes me up. An ice tea bottle my daughter had left on her desk fell on the floor. I had my son put a night light on the hallway before we went to sleep, lol. So when I opened my eyes I could see. I see my cat standing next to the desk looking at me and the bottle on the floor. Y pa' que fue eso/and that was that, I couldn't go back to sleep for like an hour. 

Then came the dream, I should say nightmare. In it, I could see myself trying to go to sleep but kept hearing noises when I closed my eyes. I kept trying to turn on the TV but the damn thing wouldn't turn on. I would close my eyes but then opened them right away thinking something was standing in front of me. Go ahead laugh but some scary stuff has happened to me so I tend to believe in some of this stuff! 

Back to the dream, I could feel my heart beating really fast and feeling more scared. To the point that I could almost hear the sound of my own heart! Then I woke up, I'm glad it was a dream but it is still scary. Had no other choice but to get up and turn on the computer! So here I am, still spooked even though the light is on and it is 6:30 AM.

I know I'm going to be very tired later but I'll drink some coffee although I know is not going to help much. Coffee doesn't have that effect on me for some reason. I'll wait until mis hijos are around to take a nap.

I'm So Late - Procrastination.

Thanksgiving is one day away and I don't have anything ready! I didn't go to the supermarket yesterday like I had planned (was feeling crappy) to so I will be going today in a little while. Haven't been in a very festive mood lately but I'm changing that today si Dios quiere/God willing. Was thinking of just going to the movies instead of staying in but I changed my mind. Unless my son tells me he wants to go out, then we'll go.

My daughter is not here so is just my son, our cat and me. I will be cooking the same thing I always cook. Arroz con gandules, pernil, potato salad and maduros. I'm buying cranberry jellied sauce, pumpkin pie and I'm baking brownies from a box of course, lol. I'm hoping the Dominican restaurant around the corner will have pasteles. Haven't had pasteles in years so I have been craving some. One thing I like about cooking a big dinner is that it last for two days so I won't have to cook the next day!

I'm preparing the pernil today to start cooking it tomorrow very early. The brownies I will do tonight. I'm leaving the potato salad for tomorrow morning and the rest I will cook a bit later in the day. I have to buy the pasteles today, I don't want to have to go out tomorrow to buy anything, no way! The good thing is I don't have to cook in a hurry or get dressed up! Yay for me!!

I don't watch TV on Thanksgiving other than a few movies or some shows on my DVR. This year though Lady Gaga is doing a Thanksgiving show - A Very Gaga Thanksgiving. She has been busy these Holidays! I'm either watching it live or recording it to watch it later in the day. It's on ABC from 9:30 - 11PM. You can see the video below. Looks like it's going to be a great show! SpongeBob Squarepants - 14 Hours Of It!

If your kids are fans of SpongeBob then you are in luck. Nickelodeon is going to air 14 hours of SpongeBob SquarePants on Friday the 25th. Starting at 7AM to 9PM, with new episodes starting at 8PM! I miss watching Spongebob Squarepants. We no longer have this channel due to budget cuts, lol. We used to watch it on Netflix but we saw all the old episodes already. 

Friday is a day to relax. Well, if you don't have to work of course or if you are not one those people who wake up at the crack of dawn to go shopping or you don't have the house full of relatives. Watching a few episodes with the kids would be a perfect way to unwind. Or you can just let the kids watch it while you have some time "ME" time. SpongeBob SquarePants doesn't mind babysitting, lol. Kidding!

Happy Halloween!

Well, is Halloween today and although I don't put on a costume to go trick or treat I do love the sales of candies afterwards. I will be watching something spooky tonight to celebrate Halloween in my own way. Most likely it will be by myself because my daughter is still a bit sick (cold) and my son just got sick yesterday. I just hope I won't get it too! 

Talking about yesterday, I was watching the first two episodes of The Walking Dead season 2. When I went to sleep all I kept thinking was zombies, lol. Woke up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom then going back to bed one of the chairs from the desk had turned and was in my way. I turned it without thinking but when I laid down all I could think was me grabbing the chair to move it and touching a zombie's head, lol. I covered myself from head to toe while trying to fall asleep again to the sound of my coquí, rain and crickets!

I might get some knocks on my door but I hope I don't. I don't give out candies and at this point everyone should know that in this building. Perhaps if the kids weren't disrespectful I would change my mind but they are, so no candies for anyone but myself! Have a laugh with some of Maxine's cartoons below. Enjoy your Halloween!!♥
